I did this mod a little over 2 weeks ago. It fell off once, it's the way I had the filter on that was at fault. I used those extra rubber pieces when there really is no need for them. So, I threw them off, slipped the cone over the hose, and I've had no problems ever since. Doesn't mean I don't check it often because I do.
Performance, not too sure if I gained much of anything. The throttle response is very noticeable. I'll keep it on just for that very reason and of course the sound
