Why!? I have no idea why they did it this way!

I believe the reverse is a 921 but don't quote me. That should be all the bulbs.

I have attached a pdf of the replacement procedure and it shows 2 bulbs in the outer light, 1 for Stop/Tail light and 1 for Turn signal. Then 2 more on the inner light, 1 for tail light and 1 for reverse.

UPDATE!

OK so today I decide to look for myself and here's what I found on my sedan.

1. you DO NOT need to remove the tail light assembly. I was able to open to access door in the trunk (you will need to cut/tear the edges) and twist and remove the sockets. Just make a note of the position of the socket after you loosen it, it makes it easier to line it up after wards.

2. the bulbs are as follows:
Outer light 1 x 1157 Tail/Brake light in the upper position, 1 x 1156 Signal light in the lower position.
Inner Light (on trunk) 1 x 1157 tail light with only 1 filament used, 1 x 921 wedge base reverse light.

I hope this clears things up.
You said "cut/tear". Is there any kind of damage done in the process with the trunk lining? Thanks.
