Hmmmmm....should be about level then correct? Maybe I'll squeeze those back on.

If you slid them off I'd definitely put them back. I was guessing you probably cut them off.

DIY Eibach pro kit-imageuploadedbyautoguide1322628904.755709.jpg
Just to be sure we are talking about the same thing. This is what I removed. It was wrapped around the coil when I got them from Eibach. Just to clarify, the front coils had them on as well.

Of course I can't find the photo I took when I first got my springs. I don't remember seeing that but it's black and so are the springs so maybe I just didn't see it.

Any chance you could take a look under your Koup when you get a chance and see if they are on there?

Hmmm. That looks too short of a piece.

Here's a pic of my rear springs. Stock on the left and Eibach on the right. The plastic tube I'm talking about starts about one coil down and ends about 5 coils down.

No prob, I'll let you know. I'm sure lleader will have a little more insight though.

Yeah, that's definitely the same tubing I'm talking about, but it was only that small strip that I posted the picture of per coil in the rear. Then about the same amount per coil in the front. Interesting. Well I guess for now I'll just hang on to them and see if any strange sounds occur. I can't imagine that small strip of plastic would make a huge difference... But that could just me being naive as well.

Did your front coils have the same stuff?

Nope. Nothing at all on my front coils.

Strange. I wonder if someone at Eibach was drunk when they packaged mine...

Wait a minute! I just took a closer look at the picture you uploaded. (Not the largest picture in the world...).

That looks like a seat of some sort. Meant to fit on the very end of the spring where it sits against the metal seat. I definitely didn't get something like that WITH my Eibach springs but I seem to recall something similar on my stock springs that I transferred to the Eibachs when I installed them. Sorry I'm vague on this but it was well over a year ago when I did the install.

No, it was wrapped around the coil about two or three coils down from the top. It's a flimsy plasticy (is that a word?) thing. That's why I can't imagine it doing much good to reduce noise or anything. Seems more like packaging to me...

For all of you who have installed your own springs, did you HAVE to trim the bumpstop and if so, how much?

Nope, I didn't and have had no problems. I've hit some pretty amazing potholes too.

As for the plastic pieces I was talking about earlier: after having these springs on for almost a month now, I haven't noticed any unusual sounds or responses from the springs (and I left my stereo off for at least a week while driving trying to hear any strange sounds that may arise). So that leads me to believe that you can either leave them on, or take 'em off.

Bearing in mind it's been about 1 1/2 years since I installed my Eibachs and there may have been changes, at that time no alterations to the front were required and a replacement shorter bumpstop for the rear was included with the new springs.
