Default How do you debadge the stock rims/wheels

I have been able to find articles in this forum on how to remove the front, back and steering wheel badges (1joeyoung posts are very good), but I have not been able to find anything on removing the badges from the stock rims, only the few comments from someone who had damaged their rims in the process. Does anyone have any tips or hints on this subject?

If you want to salvage the badges you will have to take the wheels off. Then you will see the metal clips holding them in. They should pop right out with a little effort.

If you don't want to salvage the badges, use a drill make a hole in the center of them, put something L shaped in the hole and pull the badge out.

Thanks for that. This Cerato Koup is a Christmas present for my kids and I do not take delievery until the 23 of December, so I do not have much time to trick up the car, I just wanted to have all my ducks in a row.

Thanks again.

You would want to paint the inserts im sure, so you can take off the badges then. Have fun playing duckhunt.

So... seeing as i'm still in the "honeymoon" phase with my Koup I am very reluctant to take a drill anywhere near her without more info. To remove the Kia emblems, how large a hole should I drill in them? Small as possible I take it, dead center? How deep? Is there anything behind the badges I might damage? I've got the stock 2010 SX wheels.

My #1 isn't any sillier than half the "#3 in NA"s on here.

Just take your wheel off and pop them off from the back, takes 20 minutes tops (for all 4 wheels) and you don't ruin the badges.

THIS!

Drilling to remove is just plain laziness!
