Dont mean to bring up an old post but I have a question and didnt want to start a new thread on the same topic. Here it goes...

I am going to buy an HID kit from ddmtuning.com. I plan on getting the 35w 6000k w/ slim ballasts and HID harness.

1. The correct bulb for the lo beam lights is H11?
2. Is it necessary to even change the hi beam lights or will the lo beam be fine by itself?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same kit and didn't upgrade the hi beams. Because HIDs take a few seconds to warm up, it wouldn't be that beneficial.

I instead replaced my hi beams with super white
H1 bulbs.

@beast

Did you get the H1 bulbs from the ddmtuning? And will I just need the bulbs or the whole kit for the hi beams?

No the H1 HIs I got from eBay for like $15 and all you need are bulbs to do it that way.

Did you drill a hole in the dust cap to put the kit in?

All his kits are basically going toneequore you to drill a hole in the caps or go along with the tutorial in this thread...

Or leave the caps off (not suggested)

Kind of old thread but i'm looking to buy some HIDs....saw Diode Dynamics on another thread and was curious if anybody would recommend the Diode Dynamics kit or the one i saw on DDM Tuning.

Also, if i go with the Diode Dynamics (which i'm planning on as of now unless someone gives me a reason not to) can i switch the 8000k bulbls out for 10000K bulbs? Also, being new to this whole modding thing do i need the H11 bulbs or H11b? I've seen both on different threads. And finally, if i can switch out the 8k bulbs for 10k, is there anything i need to make sure i do, for example do they have to be the same wattage? Thanks for any info

yes you can swap the bulbs. nothing extra needed. and h11 and h11b are basically the same. h11 bulbs will fit in h11b slots. i personally dont know the difference. and go with ddm tuning. they are good and a whole lot cheaper.
