First, thanks guys for the info/help.

This has gotten me pretty frustrated, lol! It's just a little cia, it shouldn't be so troublesome, haha!

I didn't think about going up from the bottom, xbeastxmode. I'll give that a try before I start taking off any of the radiator hoses.

I'm not going to have time to try any of these ideas until next weekend.

when i say bottom up I dont mean like going under your car and going to the hood. Idk if you thought this but I just didnt want to throw you off. Its hard to explain, but there is a vid on youtube about installing a cai on the koup that might be able to help.

Just know that it can be done without removing and hoses or bumper.

TN Trash. I didn't have to remove hoses on my Koup Auto.
The key, is pointing the top of the pipe towards the passengers side door. Go under the hoses. As you slide it in, twist it counter clock wise and the pipe will continue to go down under the brace and into the wheel well.

Thanks for the pep-talk guys!!

Next weekend I am going to give it another try.

The biggest problem is the 2 small hoses from the radiator (I think they are for the heater, look at the pic I copied, it shows the 2 small hoses). The large heater hose I can bend and manipulate, but the 2 smaller ones are being a big pain!

I am interested to see what all this is about. I have an auto and am going to hopefully get a CAI from turbokits soon. I always seem to find a way to make things work on cars, whether or not its the best way is another story...

First time I installed it, I went between the hoses.
When I took it off to put the thermal tape on, it went on much easier with that little hint.

Thanks for clearing that up, xbeastxmode. Silly me did think you were advising going up from the bottom of the car.

I looked a little, but did not find a youtube vid for the 2011 TK CAI install.
I believe there is a configuration difference between the 2010 and the 2011 Koups as far as the number of radiator hoses in the area the CAI tuber is supposed to go. But hey, if you were able to do it, then so should I. I just need to be more 'persuasive' with the intake tube the next time I go to install it.

I've got the intake sitting the garage waiting be put in and a complete Solo Performance exhaust system in the daughter's toy room waiting as well.

I can not wait (but am going to have to) to get these items installed. I am hoping for a noticable difference in hp and mpg

I am going to give it a try again this weekend if all goes as planned.

Once again, thanks to all for the tips/tricks.

I am not a quitter, and I have no intentions of letting this piece of metal beat me!

I got some outside advise to remove the batery and it's tray, so maybe that combine with the other info gather here, I may succeed

Finally got the TK kit installed. Had to get some help from a friend who happens to work at the local KIA dealership. He got me into their shop so I could get the car up on a rack. With him helping guide (from underneath) the tube as it was being installed in from the top. It took approx 30 mins to install, including removing the stock set-up.

It was embarrasingly easy, lol.

TN Trash, what did you end up doing about the two hoses that need to hook into the cai? I looked under the hood of my '11 koup 2.0L A/T and noticed it does have two hoses as well.

I have the 2011 2.4L Koup SX A/T, so I did not have the dual hoses to hook up to the intake.

On page one of this thread, there is a solution to the dual tube to the intake. Basically it is a splitter. Sorry, but that is the best I can help Kassc.

Another thing I found interesting about the 2011 2.4L A/T is that there is no dipstick to move. In fact, there is no dipstick at all. The transmission is sealed. It has a vertical mounted pan. It is similar to the Sorrento's trans.

Does anyone have any links to a splitter or pcv valve that would work? I'm quite not sure which one to buy
Thanks
