Default Anyone do their own tint?

I don't feel like dishing out $300 for tint unless I have to. Has anyone done it themselves? I'm willing to take the chance of messing it up if it means i'll save $250

$300 !!?? Wow- I can't see it costing that much! In my area they charge about $100. I have A guy that I've delt with for many of my cars and he did my Koup for $125 Very quality work too! I'd check around if I were you cause $300 is kinda high.

$300 is 'average retail' in this area... so when my brother in law offered to do all five windows on my sedan for $40... I jumped at it. He wasn't very pleased with some of the retainer clips used for the rear plastic but overall he was happy with the job. He worked for quite a few years as a tinter, so it's fun for him to get back into it. I would have never tried it myself though... two piece back windows frighten me.

X2 on really expensive.. maybe if the dealer did it it would cost 300 but standard here is $90-110. i would recommend lookin around a little more before doing it yourself and definitly before taking it the original quote. just my 2 cents

I took mine to a local shop .. $190(including taxes) had the car for the afternoon, one had one small issue (bubble near the top driver door) and took it back and they fixed it.. no other issues.. beautiful job and thrilled with it.

Did you remove the rear deck in order to fully cover the window (get behind the third brake light)?

I'm in Canada so ya, $300 is average. I've heard between $275 and $315 but all are around that range...

The guy that did mine, did not have to remove the rear deck to get behind the brake light, lots of slip solution and got it done no problem.

My tint on my rear 3 windows was done by the dealership prior to me buying the car. They charged me $400 on the final price for it. I'm hoping I get 5-year warranty on it lol

Got all 5 windows done for $120...they cut out around the 3rd brake light, but it doesn't look bad or standout IMO.

140 to get my 3 done. Took him about an hour.
Said he can do the two sides for another 80. Might do in a month or so at 50% tint.
