Default Help with red stitching on door panel

Ever since I did the red stitch shifter boot with the red stitched leather, I have been wanting to add red stitching to the leather in the car without it. I wanted to add it to the leather pieces on the door above the arm rest:

Has anyone taken them out or does anyone know how to without damaging anything? I just want to run two lines of stitching down the middle and possibly around the edges (don't know if that will be too much or not). I would appreciate any advice, thoughts and additional ideas. I am trying to be unique, but want it to look pretty close to stock at the same time

I think you have the right idea with the red stitching down the seam in the middle. It will look nice...

I also think a leather cover for the upper hard plastic on the dash would look great (with red stitching) but thats probably a whole different project.

No clue man but I'm jealous of that boot though!

If you really want one, i think about making it for you. I gotta see if my mom wouldnt mind doing some more sewing haha. Everything was pretty easy until trying to fit ii back in the car. A lot of recutting and regluing was required. It was well worth it though.

I don't see why not! I don't like the fact that it will be a messy install though :/

Wasn't messy, just tedious..a lot of back and forth. I made sure I had the super glue far enough away from the car that there was no way that it would get anywhere on my interior.

Well maybe when we get together again, I'll even give you something for it. Is it holding up well?

It is holding up very well. It is twisted just a tiny bit because of the elastic bands underneath (they are definitely necessary because without them, I could not shift into "manual mode" without literally pulling up on the boot). If I did it again, it would probably look better because when we cut it using the OEM boot as a pattern, we had it the wrong way :-/
