I would call and let them know what's going on and ask them to send you a replacement. I bought two the first time around since they were inexpensove indio didn't know if I would need both.

If you look closely at the area there is a tiny gap on both sides which you can slide the cable and run it down the side. You don't actually just stick
the cable in that hol. You run it down the side and then along the bottom and work it up the sides and through the console. Let me know if that helps

Maybe I missed it but, where did the Kia cable to extension cable connection end up?

It's hidden under the center console

What does the wiring look like behind the ipod dash? Why not use a USB splitter and stereo cable splinter so that the center cabinet ipod works but the ipod dash is still functional for USB flash drives? And the cable would not be sticking out the front. Would this be possible? I was thinking about doing the same thing when I saw that little felt pull out floor in the center cabinet but have not taken any plates off yet to see what's back there. Any insight?

the67beast.....Great Idea....You could also have said "The iPod sitting in my forte, parked in my driveway is also being protected by the 9mm that's locked and loaded next to my pillow...lol....

Keep up the good work! I just use my 16GB jump drive. More than enough space for all the songs I listen too...

Lol. Well for those of you planning on breaking into my car I no longer use this method as I have installed a pioneer x920bt and just use my iPhone now especially since I can use pandora with it. iPod will be going up for sale soon.

Not to be a hater, but why not do what I did and install a 100 disc juke box CD player in the trunk and run it off a FM transmitter.
LOL!!!
My next project is a record player that doesn't skip when I have my subwoofer on. I got some old school muppets records I want to play so loud.....

So... let's pretend I'm a thief for a moment... I break into the car... I see a cable plugged into the ipod jack, mysteriously going back inside the vehicle's panels... hmmm. "I wonder whatever this could be hooked up to?" I unplug the cable, give it a tug, hear ipod smacking around in center console...
