Hey guys. I received the tk hfc today and was wondering if I should use any silicon around the heads of each end to create more of a seal or would it be fine without it? Plan on installing in either a hour or two or tmrw. Idk yet if I wanna do it so late. Thanks for yalls help
It's fine without it. The silicone coupler will seal plenty well, as well as the rubber filter base. Just torque it down real good!

Well I mean there is nothing on it it's just metal to metal if I put it of at the moment and I'm not a professional so idk if it'll create a good enough seal. It didn't have any silicon or rubber gasket or anything around it when I got it
Oh wow, I thought you said CAI.
The cat-con doesn't need anything other than the metal gasket that comes with it! Just make sure it's tight and you'll be fine.

Hmm well I didn't exactly see a metal gasket lol it's just the end and the other end. Unless I'm not exactly sure I'm thinking the right thing that a gasket is. Lol grr

Should that be a whole other part or is that already like built on. The head looks that shape sorry man but I appreciate the help. I'm thirsting for more knowledge.
That's a separate piece, there's one on there stock, and TK should have provided one for you... It's a thin piece of metal to seal the two flanges together.

Contact TK and see if they'll send you some. You could also try reusing the stock ones. Or see if the previous owner has them.

Oh! Would the stock ones work? I didn't even think to see if the stock ones had em

The one on the downpipe probably would, but I don't know about the resonator flange. Try it.
And the stock ones are probably stuck on there pretty good so pry them off with a flat-head screw driver.

Alright and if it doesn't is there some kinda of heat resistant sealant I can get from a local auto parts store

Not that I know of, but if you bring them the HFC they could probably find the right gasket for you.
