oil catch jar

2016 Forte 2.0

I added a simple oil catch jar. I will post photo(s) one of these days.

So far, it collects about a teaspoonful of oil a week. The inlet hose runs down hill from the source to the jar.

It's weird that the manifold connection hose goes into #4 cylinder. I reckon that keeping that much oil out of the cylinder is a good thing. There are "official" catch cans available, but this cost less than $10 overall.

Are you running just a simple can or some type of baffled system inside your can? If you're collecting a "teaspoonful" a week with a simple can you're most likely still getting a lot of blow by into the engine as nothing is there to physically catch the oil and water vapor droplets. Would be interested to see what you're using for your set up
