Default Kia Forte Wheel Arche Recall

Just got a call from the dealership.

They informed me that KIA just release a recall for the front wheel arches which requires them to be re-sealed, approx time is 1.5 hours.

From my understanding its to re seal the wheel fender area, sounds like they may have to take appart the fender plates & remove the front bumper at 1.5 hours.

Dont know if this applies to all makes/models.
I have a 2010 SX 2.4l Auto, Canadian car.

Best to call your local dealer and setup your appointment or to get more information.

Not just a Canada thing and not a recall. It's a TSB from August for snow belt States. They take the front wheels off and add some sealant to areas around the wheelwell that werent properly sealed from the factory to prevent rust.

I had it done a couple months ago.

It's a TSB I had mine done a few months ago. There's already a post on it.

It's a legitimate recall and I had it fixed at my dealership 2 months ago. They looked it up in their system and found it.

Got a call for a recall today. FYI

I had it done to my 2010 Forte SX sedan last month. I was filling my tires the other day and noticed that the front right wheel well liner was not conforming to the curve of the fender; I don't think they reinstalled it correctly. I checked the left side, and it looks perfectly fine (i.e. factory).

The next time I get in touch with the dealer, I will point this out to them and have them reinstall the front right liner CORRECTLY.

Pfft prevent rust, the dealer did mine last winter and didnt even wash out the crap in the seam. They told me it was a missing body weld...course that didnt suprise me.

Did you buy it in 2012 or late 2011?

Guess it's time to get my 5 into the dealership. I need to have a couple other things checked out as well...
