Default opinions on under engine cover?

Hey everyone,

Found this on ebay and thought it was neat:
OEM 08 10 Kia Forte Engine Room Under Cover New on eBay.ca (item 180588414664 end time 15-May-11 10:43:58 EDT)

anyone else have an opinion?

personally I want it to prevent that annoying strip of dirt from forming on the underside passenger side of my hood, and to protect my filter once I put on my tk cai

opinions?

thanks

I thought it went under the engine bay...?

Price isn't bad...but if it does go under the engine bay it would be a PITA removing it for oil changes. If it goes on top of the engine...why?

It definitely goes on under the engine. I like it, and seems like a good way to keep the CAI filter from water splashing into it.

I think one of the holes lines up with the oil filter, the other I don't know. Haven't found an installed pic though.

The holes line up with the filter and the drain plug.

Pretty good thing to have if your car is lowered and you run it in rocky terrain.

Nice definitely for lowered vehicles and those that live in rocky areas or dirt roads.

A good way too use it is paint it with high temp on the outside and then place so LED strips on the top to shine up throught the engine compartment.

I'm probably going to order it too. I want to armor up my engine bay ever since I got that puncture in my condenser.

I doubt it would stop anything serious, It looks about the same construction as the trunk liners kia offers.

Ill definatly post pictures once it comes. From some of the other stuff iv bought from them it may be a while...

Hopefully it won't attract small animals to crawl in there for warmth and housing. Could get messy...

No. That actually sounds like a terrible idea.

I think it'll be more like the Audi engine bay covers. So it'll be like the plastic shields in the fenders. I'm going to order it too right now.

I am curious as well to see how this lines up with everything and how much protection it will actually provide.
