I just recently picked up my 2010 silver koup ex. So far I'm liking the car with styling and features, but coming from a Skyline GT-R the 2.0L engine deffinetly needs some more power lol. I definetly look forward to becoming part of the Forte community.

So far, the plans for my car are to install my two 12" Hertz HX300D woofers w/ Audison LRX1.1K amp, smoke out the mirror signals and tails, and install hid's all round exterior and interior :-D

I look forward to seeing all the hard work people have put into their cars.

My wife owns a 2010 forte sx, and I drive a 05 srt4 here in brevard county(florida). Figured since I am always on the forums for my car i should keep up with the forte's since my wife only knows how to put gas in the car! lol we have had it for over a year and have about 15k miles on it. When the Transmission on my '95 Grand Cherokee blew up on the 401 last month, I didn't know what to get! Then I started seeing these beauties driving around, so I went and test drove one! I love it! I have the 5 speed AT, which is one of the most pleasant AT experiences I've had. Great car, Great price!

In case you're wondering, I hail from the Caribbean twin-island state of Trinidad and Tobago. I think there are a few other trini's here....oh CaptainZaak!!!!!

The Koups and sedans we get down here are badged as "Ceratos", not Fortes like the US folks.

The Cerato Koup is available as per the typical export market specs, with a base 1.6L engine (putting out anywhere between 121-124 hp) and the 2.0L engine. The 2.4 is unfortunately, exclusive to the US folk :(.



In terms of performance and handling, I must say I'm impressed - and that's saying something, considering that I'm also the owner of an '02 WRX (yes, turbo) and a JDM RX-8 Type S (6MT). The car corners so cleanly, with little drama or worry....and this is on the stock crappy Kumho Solus tyres! I can't wait to get some Sport Z1's on this thing :D

I went to the dealership to get it, and I just couldn't manage a deal on the SX, so I decided an EX would be a hell of a car as well. They gave it to me for $14,500. It is an AUTO in the dark red with a sunroof.

I am looking to possibly do some mods, mostly cosmetic, but I would like some "advice" or just ideas of what to do. I see the Kia K badge is pretty cool, and I am going to do it in black and silver. I am also interested in some other things if you have any suggestions.

As for "other than cosmetic" mods, I am only really interested in a Cold Air Intake (CAI) mod for now. I was wondering which is the best bang for the buck. I understand it is really just a pipe and a filter, no? Any help particularly in this subject would be great. I am on a TIGHT budget, so cheaper is better, but I don't really want to skimp.

After researching different cars for over 6 months I decided to go with the forte koup and i have not regretted it. It looks and feels better than the other cars i was looking at...the Scion tC and the Civic si. Plus....its less expensive. :D The only things im not liking about the car so far are:

1. I keep stalling it. But i think i might try the throttle mod sometime or just get use to it.

2. The gas mileage ive gotten so far is around 20 mpg?? Not sure why, because ive been driving mostly highway. Could it be because i just got the car 4 days ago??

3. And....if anybody could tell me why this is....i had smoke coming from the engine the day after i bought it and some weird smells too. Maybe they cleaned it with something and the smell was it burning off...not sure :confused:
