Default Audio Gurus needed! RAAMmat-BXT-II or Ensolite IUO?

Anyone used this product from RAAMaudio.com?
Ensolite IUO (Ensolite IUO Peel and Stick - RAAMaudio Inc.)
RAAMmat BXT II (RAAMmat BXT II - RAAMaudio Inc.)

My goal is to greatly reduce road noise and the in cabin exhaust tone so when I upgrade the sound system I'll be in musical ecstasy!

Which of the two should I use as a foundation for when I add the DIY Soundproofing Kit from Shark Racing?
(Shark Racing)

Thanks!

I am using both products, and you will want to use both as well to get the best sound deadening and absorbing performance. Read this How To from RAAMaudio. It is very helpful.

As far as the Shark Racing kit goes, I know very little about it, but I would expect that spending that $200 on matting and instead would be a better investment and give you better results. Just my two pesos. Good luck!

Just to confirm, the shark racing kit is a better investment and will provide better results than both the RAAM products combined?

No, my phone deleted some of my post. I personally think the money would be better spent on RAAMat and Ensolite Peel n' Stick. The benefit of the peel and stick is you don't have to use messy spray adhesives in your car. I am actually doing te BXT II and Ensolite Peel n' Stick in my car right now. Plenty of work!

Which means plenty of time to keep me busy! Very interested in the end result for exterior noise reduction.

I use second skin, but there are a few other alternatives out there.

I mainly use it for my system though :basshead:

I'll let you know how it sounds when I am done.

I have heard that deadening the wheels wells makes a HUGE difference for road noise. I have a 50 sq ft roll of FatMat Rattle Trap asphalt deadener that I plan to use on the wheel wells. I refuse to use an asphalt-based deadener inside, but it should be perfect for the wheels wells.

I will likely have some FatMat leftover if you are interested in it.

I could very well be if it'll fit with my wheel set up. I'm smashing in the back and need to fix it first.

You should be fine because the matting and foam get applied to the backside of the plastic wheel wells (the side away from the wheel itself).

Ok, so I finally got the seats back in last week and noticed quite an improvement in noise reduction inside the car.

Over the weekend I took out the two front fender wells and added two layers of FatMat Rattle Trap (asphalt deadener) and a layer of ensolite. Wow, what an improvement! It is so quiet while driving now and almost dead silent inside the car on brand new roads. I can actually have a conversation by whispering now, when I used to have to raise my voice. I'm excited to do the roof and rear panels, as most of the remaining noise comes from the rear and top areas of the cabin. Just figured I'd let you know!

Very awesome! Think I'll have to put this higher on my list.

21shabutie13 - do the rear wheel liners the same as the fronts, it makes a big difference. The rear hatch area has quite a bit of soundproofing already, so not much to be gained there in my opinion. I can't wait to get my Continental DWS's mounted on Friday and get rid of the noisy Goodyears. I'm expecting Lexus quiet.

Hey Walpole, I think the forte 5 rear wheel wells must be different than the Koup. My Koup rear wheel wells do not have plastic liners like the front wheel wells do. All it has is sheet metal wheel wells coated in spray-on undercoating. I'm wondering if I can get at them through the trunk. However, the wheel wells are behind the rear seat, so I'm wondering how much they really contribute to cabin noise, if at all. Hmm...
