wasn't really sure where to post this. I have a 2011 forte 5 sx. I love the car accept one little thing. Its an automatic. It is a lease and I would love to but it at the end of the lease.
But, I want to get a forte 5 manual but don't want to wait the remaining 2 years and 5 months. The remaining payments due on my lease are right around 5000 and i put 4000 down.
Is there anyway to get what I want without taking a big hit financially. Im fine with it costing me a little more in the end but not much.

It looks like the only way you might do this is by taking a financial hit... Leasing a car is never a good idea in my opinion (especially if you planned on modding) and why didnt you just get the car you wanted from the start?

well i leased because i just graduated college and had no money so my parents made the down payment, im paying them back and the car payments were only 170 a month and i can do that.
I didn't know i would want the manual so much plus i just traded in my previous car and was starting an internship. I litterly got this car 3 days after my internship started and needed to use my rents/friends for rides those three days and I couldn't keep doing that. This was my only choice without waiting to see if my dealer would be able to locate one and last time I had a dealer do that it took over a week for them to tell me they couldnt get one from another dealer.
Pretty much took to much time deciding on what I wanted.

Well, i can tell you this much. You've already technically violated your lease agreement based on your signature. Dealer finds out about any of that stuff, even the badges, they could demand you buy THAT car since it's no longer stock.

^^^ what??? Those suspension mods are reversible. They're just bolt ons. And swapping the badges are nothing. If you added a turbo or cut a whole in the roof then maybe. My brother in law modded the crap out of his lease....not only did the dealer not mind, they actually paid him for the mods cause they wanted to keep them.

Depends ENTIRELY on the dealer and type of car. I love the Forte in all it's forms, but imagine a dealership's point of view. It's used, it's a 5-door. Probably gonna try and push it onto a new family or a female buyer, both of which would probably complain about those modifications to push the price down. They can use that argument for slapping him with penalty fees and breaking his lease.
If they wanted to get REALLY pissy about it, they could take him to court for modifying THEIR property, though, technically, banks could do the same to anyone who has modified a car before it's paid off. That's worst case scenario.
Most likely though, he'd remove the bars anyway, and they'd charge him a parts and labor cost to rebadge the car themselves... and then sell it with the k badges anyway!

You need to find out what your lease payment is and make sure your trade in is at least $2000 more than that so you can have a down payment on the next vehicle. If you leased the vehicle through KIA financial than you will have to pay apx. $430 early termination fee. It doesn't matter if the car has modifications since you are trading the car in.
I turned in my leased MINI cooper after 3 months for the Hatch with no problems.
I wouldnt bring up the mods and if I was going to get the same car I would take them off and put them on my new car. That is why my first mods have been the removable stuff.
I also am confident my dealer wouldn't car about them at all

I don' want to preach but you took a huge financial hit when you leased a car. To get out of the lease, get a new car and get back into another lease... well... yes, you are going to take a HUGE financial hit. Sorry but you are really just throwing good money after bad.
If you cannot afford to buy a brand new car then you really need to look at used one. A lease is even worse then buying a new car. Wanting to get out of a lease and get into another one... well, that is just crazy talk.
You put $4000 down and your lease totals another $5000. I bought a 2010 Forte (sedan) for $10,000. Difference is, I'll have something at the end.
Again, I'm not trying to insult you... I just think you need to consider the whole picture.
Don't bring up modifications in the discussion unless they ask. Act like you know very little to nothing about cars.
ie. Did you install an intake?
-What's an intake?
Did you install a strut bar?
-I'm sorry but what's a strut bar?
Dealer: Sir, you know installing a Turbo breaks your lease agreement right?
Leasie: What is a turbo? I don't know anything your talking about.
Dealer: That right there sir.
Leasie: I didn't put that there

Well if i do end up purchasing at the end I will only end up paying like 1000 maybe 1500 more then the starting value of the car. Not a really bad desicision if I stick with it.

I can't help much about this topic... but if you want to try and rekoup (see what I did there?) some cost, I'm sure there are some people on this forum willing to help out by buying some of your mods to offset some of the transition costs.
cheers!

Except that you over paid for the vehicle to begin with (i.e. lease) and you are subject to a lot of limitations when leasing. What was your interest rate on the lease? Exactly. Don't know.
