Yeah it's crazy violent. Didn't notice any at all until switching from stock rubber to my Hankooks. Hopefully when I do a bit more structural upgrades it'll solve it.
Its unsprung weight coupled with attempted traction. A stiffer spring and some more rebound would help. But to be honest you may never fully cure it. Or if you do ride could be seriously compromised.
Meh, I've seen much worse. My Eclipse was a fwd when I purchased it, car made ~450 whp at the track (410whp daily tune). Drag racing, w/ 18" rims & 225/40/18 rubber & that thing would wheel hop in 2nd & 3rd so bad, your cameraman would drop his camera :biggrin2:
Wheel hop is very hard on drivetrain parts, so I'd try your best to tray & avoid it. Only reason I didn't exploded my front diff in the Eclipse is because I upgraded it to a Quiafe LSD. The only real cure for me was to awd swap the car :wink2:
Some things that can typically help wheel hop, stiffer engine mounts, higher profile/softer sidewall tires & tweeks to the suspension. Or look into a better tire with more grip, as it will be less likely to break free in the first place.
