I am going in to get my 2012 Koup SX 6 M/T serviced due to a TSB from Kia. According to the dealership, it includes a VCM actuator replacement, ECM upgrade, and a battery terminal replacement. I have been able to verify some of this via KGIS. That's all the info I have right now, but I will let you all know if I find out anything new on Saturday.
Has anybody had this checked out already?

Can't get on kiatechinfo right now, is this a 2012 thing only? OP how did you hear about it? From the dealer?

I first saw the ECM upgrade on kiatechinfo, then called the dealer to inquire. He confirmed and also mentioned the battery terminal change as well. I am assuming this would apply to all models in 2012 manufactured between 6/11 and 8/11. I will ask for sure which models and years this applies to and let you know.

When I read it, it was the same verbiage, 2012 models only manufactured between certain dates. (specifically for the ECM update, has to do with turn signal.)

Whoops, I never updated you guys on this. I went to the dealership last saturday, and they performed the ECM update and replaced the battery terminals. They did not perform the VCM actuator replacement because the ECM update was supposed to take care of the VCM actuator code. It should be noted that I never saw any CEL warnings due to the VCM actuator, but nevertheless they said to come in if the CEL does actually come on. I did this as a precautionary measure more than anything since the warranty covers it.
I see no visual difference in the battery terminals. I never really bothered to find out what was the issue with the original terminals, though, and I didn't take before/after pics.
Lastly, I asked which models/years this applied to, and they weren't 100% sure based on the documents they had. Go figure. They just ran the VIN to see if it was applicable to my Koup. They did say that they believe it is for all Forte models, as well as Optimas and Souls, produced from June - August 2011. Just an FYI!
