The total amount of performance upgrades in this package are thousands less than the competition....and keep in mind that they're painted and installed on the vehicle as well!
This is a new car however most, if not all of the parts will also be available through the parts counter for those enthusiasts interested in personalizing their current Koup's.
Definatly a smart looking car. I was assuming to see a turbo as one of the mods, but no dice eh! I moved to Alberta from Toronto 3 years ago. Prior to that I have been going to the car show @ the convention centre since I was 10. Man I miss that car show!
Hey guys the kia dealership told me there is a small body kit for the kia sedan! I saw it on my salesman's computer. He said that there is a body kit for the koup, but it hasn't come in yet...

I was at the Auto Show earlier today and stopped by the Kia section to see the SXR. I was told by one of the Kia dealers onsite that it won't be on the market until next year.

Its nice to see or hear KIA Canada coming out to the ball game. But how do those parts you listed equate to a "RSpec"? And, Please explain to the forum how this saves thousands over the competition?

The Audi influence is striking(Peter Schreyer). Audi S4's used to have blades just like that on the lower doors, sans the curve at the back though.
Very impressive, although I'd like to see a better wheel than that dated BBS design being used.

IMO, Kia Canada wanted to take the Koup to another level for enthusiasts.
By enhancing an already great package with visual and performance upgrades, it was only natural that this package needed its own identity to set it apart from the rest of the models. This was when the R edition was born.
I believe the point to this R edition was to add some flair and style yet being classy and smart looking. Of course the only problem lies where you set your limit. Yes, you can more of this and that, but then the value for money may start to get out of reach for some. This is where I believe Kia wins compared to its competition. The value is still there and not to mention, the Koup is such a hot looking car right off the bat that you're already ahead of the game period!
