I dont really know anything about cars. I saw a Koup on the road and I loved it. I researched quite a few cars online and the Koup looks like it has the best combo of looks/features/price. I am pretty sure I am going to get the koup and finance it. I just have a few questions..
1. Is insurance a lot higher for a coupe compared to a 4-door? (I live in Ontario)
2. I really want a EX only because it is better on fuel economy. But I love a lot of the features on the SX like the rims and sunroof. I do not care about speed at all (I drive a 2000 cavalier right now and im fine with that LOL). Thoughts on getting an EX?
3. What should I expect from the dealerships in terms of deals? Should I visit a lot of different dealerships or are they all offering the same thing?
4. What is the difference between the 2011 and 2012? The 2011 version is a lot cheaper when you build it yourself on kia.com.
Hey, welcome to the forums. I personally have a 2010 forte koup and i must say that i love this car. I'm also from ontario and insurance isnt all that bad, of course a lot depends on where in ontario. Not sure about newer models but my 2010 is an EX and i got it with a sunroof so shop around and get what you want.
You are correct in that this car is great value for the price, i have 54000 kms on it now and havent even changed the break pads yet, all maintenance done at dealership and found that my dealer treats me great. I've heard bad things about KIA in the past but believe me it is the past.
As far different dealers and pricing goes, some ppl on the forum have had not so great experiences with their dealers so if you have a few in your vicinity hit them all up, try and google any experience ppl have had with those dealers and pick the one who can do the most for you.
If you have any other questions go ahead and ask, and once again welcome to the forum.
The four door will be a cheaper than the two door on insurance, just how it is. You also need to pick an insurance company that doesn't view it as a sports car. I had a 2005 Eclipse GS and paid $1100 every six months for insurance, now I have a 2012 Hatch and pay $500 every six months for the same $100/$300/$100 coverage.
Now between the EX and SX, if you are wanting to get performance out of it than go with the SX. If you want a sexy looking car that has a great value and a peppy 2.0L engine than the EX is for you. Just compare the options and standard features of each and let that decide. The MPG shouldn't really matter since its only a couple different and will add a few more dollars a year.
I went with an EX solely because there weren't any SX's near me. I do not have any regret on my choice either! =]
dont get this car. Theres so many problems with it being a new car, creases in the metal, sqeeky interior parts, etc.. GET A HONDA. if you like how the forte looks, then youll like how the 2012 Civic coupe looks, If i were you id get a 2010 civic sedan si, but thats just me

Dud you need to sell your EX koup and go by a Honda if you think that, and leave this site for guys that like forte's. If we want to see bad mouthing koup, then we can go over to the honda site. I have NONE of the problems your are talking about. Mabel the 2010 had some problems, but that was there first year of production. My SX 2012 is almost perfect. Very compliant I have heard from 2010 owners, I don't have in my SX 2012.

I have a 2010 SX Koup and I've really had none of those problems. I live in NY so we get extreme cold and extreme heat and I've never seen creases. There's a little bit of noise inside the cabin and it can creak but usually only in the cold when I'm going down my driveway...remember, it's a KIA not an Infiniti. For the price, rarity, warranty, insurance, looks, performance, and overall great features, this car is amazing..the civics are horrible IMO.
He stated he doesn't care about speed and would be fine with the EX, why would u push an Si?? If u want a car that is seen every other car u look, get a civic..
I used to live in ontario, the ins on a 4 door will be MUCH better then a koup. and if your not looking for performance go with the sedan. I have the koup sx and my ins jumped pretty high. But i love every civic killing RPM of it !!!!! and have had min issues with mine at 45km.

BAHAHAHA every other car i see in moncton is a civic!! and all with kids driving them! they practically give them away out here. and they dont even touch my koup sx
KIA makes a great car and so does Hyundai. I'd never get a Honda or Toyota becaus they are becoming complacent like GM, Ford, and Dodge did. They keep coming out with the same car year after year and people buy it because that's what they see commercials of.
But onto what you were saying, if fuel economy is your goal, get an ex if going with a forte. If you want better fuel economy and a nice looking car check out the Hyundai elantra or wait until later this year when the redesign forte comes out. Or go the path of the new Chevy cruze or Ford focus, because they no longer suck :-)

theres no differences between '11 and '12, If you MUST buy this car dont get a 2010. Id rather get any generation civic si then this car. I will never, ever buy from kia or hyundia again. Everyone that defends this car, your probably a salty 35 year old who's mad because they spend $20k+ on a slow as f*** car, HAHA sucks to suck
Shut the hell up you little punk and get off this site you bitter little piss ant moms boy. Some admen need to kick this guy off the site all he want to do is bad mouth Kia and other members. And you need to go get a civic because you are a civic owner, theres a lot of civics running around here with all stock base models with that ugly big ass wing like yours.
