nice pics.. so if my tires look like that.. i would need new tires then. those are pretty much shot.
yup, the horizontal line is called a "wear bar" if its even with the tread, then change it immediately. I've been having finals and having the car parked over summer. so i'm getting new tires before end of august. (i barely squeezed 10k out of them). They hydroplane like a bitch.

for some reason i like he position of the koup and lighting and everything. Also the fact i changed that tire in under 8 minutes made me feel good.
TXDOT tore up a bunch of the country roads by my house, like, theres a 40 foot long 2 foot diameter pipe laying in my yard. I have a minimum of 1 mile in any direction of new dirt roads to contend with to go anywhere. I stopped and asked the construction crew if or when they were going to repave it. The guy was at least 50 lbs overweight, missing a bunch of teeth, smoking a cigarette, and holding a slow sign. His reply was, "when the road settles. Probably 3 months".
Anyway, they are on their 4th layer of fill sand and 2" crushed limestone. It does wonders to my under-carriage. It is not like pushing through snow, it is extremely difficult to maneuver to not get stuck in the mud right after they lay down another few metric tons of water/solution on a quarter mile stretch, a bit like sledding with an engine in caramel. Thankfully, I know a guy who will repaint my car for a little poon and a sandwich after this is all done. I am looking forward to laying down some thick striped accents to the freshly paved road with my RWD vehicles.
I'm glad we erected the fence where we did for the dogs and crews sake. I've lost about 3 feet of my sideyard to this project. Helps to view at full screen:
