Tweetdealer/service related (scratches when car purchased and tpms broken)
well i wanted to just ask, i just got a 2010 forte with 40k miles. and just about at 41-42k now. and when we got it, there were deep scratches on the bumper. am i entitlted to a free paint job from the dealer? coz i asked them for a touch up pen then salesman just told me a lot of stuff then advised to come back when their service shop is open and had been told that i have to pay for the touch up pen. also, the tire valve broke. little did i know that it has a tpms sensor, and had been told by tire shops to bring it to the dealer . is the replacement for the tire valve/tpms also free? car has only been with me for 2weeks i really want to hear from your opinions
It really is all in the dealership your with. some dealerships are more then happy to fix small issues like that, but even i've seen some that just dont care after the purchase is final. I would call and ask.

i really do hope they are one of those, coz yeah it is a kia dealer after all and theyre carrying kia products lol
They will probably just cover the TPMS under warranty. However, I'm going to imagine with the paint you will be on your own. It is used after all and paint damage like that isn't covered under warranty. That could have been used by you as a reasoning for a price reduction or you could have asked them to fix it prior to purchase.

The dealership might eat the TPMS sensor, but Kia is not going to pay for ANYTHING that is broken. Things that are broken are NOT part of any car company's warranty's. As for the paint, I would talk to the salesman or his boss in person.

meh, for the paint he said that its like what i sold you is what it is being that it is a used car. very disappointed with this salesman, and the higher people there were just looking at me and ddnt offer any kind of assistance to ease my frustrations about the problem. i did ask the lady from service if ill have to pay for anything. and she said no. hope that is the case tho. im really am pissed with this dealer, its as if i bought something from a 99cent store that has the notices like "no refund,no exchange" kind of service

guess i had the latter, the ones that just sell you and call it quits. been told that it being a used car will have some dents/scratches and it will be as it is. and the salesman did brag about their dealership having top rating what a joke
Paint warranty is 3/36 and you have bought it used. I would be surprised if the dealer took care of either one! I dont see why they would or should, just because they sell Kia's does not mean they have to do anything/everything for free.
Did you not notice the TPMS light was on when you bought it, or the paint was chipped? If you did, you should have mentioned it and gotten something in writting if they said they would fix it.

did mention the paint thing to the salesman and been told that he'll "hook me up" with the touch up paint since that was i was asking for. and about the tpms, it ddnt light up, even now that it is broken.
That does not make sense. How do you know it is broken? If the TPMS sensor is bad, broken, or not sending a signal it will absolutly have a light on the dash.
Also, you should know better to never take anyones word for something, more so when they are selling you something. Everyone lies. Period. Sucks, but it is true.

uhm, the cap is stuck on the valve coz the valve is split into half. when i went to the tire shop/mechanic to have the valve replaced they told me its a sensor. meh, maybe im getting mixed up with this terms.
and yah, lesson learned
So the sensor may not be bad, it still is sending the signal but the stem is cracked... Makes more sense.
could be it, not really a technical person here so sorry if i could be throwing in random words lol. but ya, went for a 9am appointment and wait for an hour to find out that they dont have the part. they ordered it online, and just gonna call me. meh, fun fun fun lol
and ya, got the paint pen applied the first coating. hope the 2nd would look better since its a deep scratch
