2 different classes of cars, compact and full size sedan, full sizes are usually nicer, but than a luxury sedan would be even nicer, for my budget the Forte exceeds the competion.

what makes them even more different is the forte is a econo box and the optima isn't

Yea as the others have stated, they're 2 different cars.. I bought my SX Koup fully loaded for 20K...the fully loaded optima SX turbo...about 35K...not in my price range (19 yrs old at time of purchase)

But if the question was would u rather have an optima? Yea I would..

If I could do it again ??? I'd just get a loan for 10-14k and go buy a 72 or 73 AMX 401.

Buy one for around 9k cash , build the engine , beef up the trans , 4:10 posi , gunmetal silver paint job , all black leather interior , 3 inch stainless pipes , flow masters dumped at the rear , 15x7 front 15x12 cragarss wheels wrapped in mickeythompson tires. Subpar stereo professionally built into the vehicles BEW interior. And and the left over cash in gas

So yeah , if I could do it again, I wouldn't be here.

Price aside, if I had to do it again, I would get the Genesis Coupe. Just as rare on the road, a little better looking when modified, OEM turbo, RWD, more parts available. Yes it's a little more expensive both short and long term but the way I see it, my money is gonna get spent one way or another.

Optima turbo is nice but at that price range there are many other cars I would choose over the Optima SX. I could care less for the less than mediocre reviewed Optima Hybrid. Would I want a stock bottom of the line Optima? Not at all.

Sure it's a nice looking car but the Forte Koup exemplifies everything I want in a car and the Optima doesn't. Bottom line, I respect it due to the fact that it's a Kia but I couldn't justify spending the money on the Optima SX. Plus it's an automatic...

the only version of the optima that looks good and worth the money is the SX, I wouldn't put a dime down for any other model..

Agreed. I see a lot of EX models and don't give them a second glance but when I see a SX model I can't stop staring. Amazing how a few subtle changes to the body trim completely enhances that ride.

Optima, blegh. Not a fan. Too big and no hatch.
Would most certainly repurchase my Forte Hatch.

Very rare but some of the 11 sx optimas came with 6speed m/t. Very few though. And my koup is my "project" car as the optima is our "family" car. Style i like both but the koup more. And interior i like the optima for the space

I was looking at both when I bought my Forte and honestly, I'd still buy the Forte. I was on a budget and it after I looked at both, It was either a Loaded SX Hatch or base EX Optima. Between the two, the Forte's better for me. plus with all the rebates and incentives on the forte, I got it for a lot less than I thought.

If anything else to be honest, would've been another compact car. Either the Ford Focus or Mazda 3 Skyactiv. Didn't like the focus because MyFordTouch and the transmission sucked and the Mazda 2.0 is gutless and slow.

I'd still have the Koup SX. I could have bought a V-6 Genesis Coupe, Volvo c30, or Mazdaspeed 3, but the Koup leaves more in my wallet and is such a striking car. Then again, had I bought one of the others, I'd always be wondering what the Koup is like, same as I do now with my other choices, lol.
