I go tomorrow to get my '10 Sedan appraised. I asked a question a few weeks ago about the process of trading my car in and that day has arrived. I've looked at Kelly Blue book a few times but I also know what I expect to receive privately will be allot different from what a dealer is willing to give me.....
My Sedan is a '10...4 speed automatic...23,866 miles...in perfect condition with the exception that I filed a insurance claim for rocks being thrown at my front end of the freeway chipping up my front bumper and right front fender. Had it resprayed. Not sure how that could affect anything. Interior is about as nice as the day I bought it. Changed the oil on avg every 2200-2500 miles (all receipts to prove that). I still know I will take a loss. Just wondering what I might expect to receive. Kelly says Excellent condition is $11,317. Very good is $11,117 and good at $10,567......
Does anyone have any thoughts on what type of lowball figure I could exepect to get and any tips on how to wheel n deal with them as far as getting that figure closer to my payoff????? I am looking to get into the '12 Koup SX or '12 Optima Sx. Have to see the numbers before I decide on which. Thanks guys/gals......
I know this is a bit short notice but the potential re-design of the Koup is supposedly coming out soon. So if worse comes to worse and you don't mind waiting (need to save up cash or whatever), you could always see what's in stock for 2013.
Yea u could either wait until they announce the '13 or take your chances with a trade in but getting it appraised doesn't mean u have to take it so the worst thing that can happen is that u don't like the number and u leave...but if u do, every month it'll decrease in value so beware of that..

Exactly. My wife is worried about what number they might throw at me and I told her the exact same thing. If they try to lowball me more than I think is reasonable all I have to do is walk out. I mean they made money off my car once, making money on the new one and then money again once they sell my car again. So I won't allow them to screw me. Do we know when the '13 is set to be released and do we have any pics or renderings to go off of yet???
Well new models are usually released mid-late year..so probably August or so. Which is actually the best time to buy a '12 since they wanta clear the lot for the new models. I havent seen any pics of the '13 yet but it should be soon I think
Soo just got back from the Kia dealer and have sorta good news...The Great news is, they are willing to pay off my loan. The whole loan! The worst case scenerio is I might take a 60-75 dollar a month hit to the monthly payment. Not bad for a $28K car honestly. They want to get me out of the high interest secondary bank I am currently going through. Luckily I have a "friend" of sorts in finance who persuaded the banks they go through. The bad news if you call it that is I might be going into a Optima. Test drove the 2.4T and I have to say I am in love. The power threw me back into the seat. The handling was awesome. The panoramic roof. All the luxuries. I was highly impressed. Getting back into my Sedan I was sad. It almost felt cheap. Good thing is they are working out the rest of the numbers will find out by Friday.
