DRL (daytime running lights) for my 2010 Forte

I was wondering if DRLs are something that can be programmed since my car currently does not have any from the factory. My car is an EX.

You just need to install some fog lights. Lol.

Searched, is there a foglight retrofit? How about aftermarket fogs, the dealer charges waaay too much.

To answer your question, I don't believe a it is just a ECM reflash option. Don't think the US models have the correct relays and wiring harnesses installed. If Kiatech is around, he could probably provide much more information.

So the DRL option only available in the SX model?

You can add the fogs to your ex. That thread is for modding the wiring on the factory fogs which come with the sx so that they will always be on when the car is. All you have to do is install the fogs and wire them to your liking. (Parking lights, separate switch, headlights, turn signals, ignition, anything really)

I see. I just found a site (parts.com) and they have the fogs for the cheapest I have seen, $59. The dealer wanted like $130 a per side.

i installed DRL mercedes style onto my forte EX, wired them into my parking brake lights. when they are on, so are my DRL;s and when turn signal is on, they offset eachother by blinking seperately.
