Hi guys I'm new to the forums and I was wondering if 17x9 +35 wheels with 225/45/17 tires would fit on my 2011 Forte5? I am currently lowered on Megan springs. I don't mind rolling my fenders and I have camber bolts on hand. I've read through the official wheel fitment thread and looked all around the forum but I'm still unsure of whether my set up would fit the Forte5. Has anyone done this? Thank You.
I was considering those tires sizes as well but the only reason I haven't gone with them is because I want to autox this season. I'm worried that I will have massive rubbing because it seems that most people stick with 8" wheels instead of 9".
unless someone else has ran similar size/offset, hard to tell if they will fit, in the past, I've used http://www.willtheyfit.com/ to compared different offsets/sizes, then when you look at your car, with a tape measure, you can kind of "guess" how much room you have with wheels turned left/right....
Also with a 9" wheel and auto-x interest, why not run 235s or 245s?
Do you have the wheels? best bet would be to bring it to a tire shop and just mount 1 tire and test fitment.
there is lots of guys running this specs man 17×9+35 18×9+35 is the same thinq pretty much.and no one have problems. i it think it's to much of the tire in my opinion. I would recommend go with 215/40.
hmmm, yeah on here, http://www.forteforums.com/forums/forte-wheels-tires/17801-official-wheel-tire-fitment-thread.html it looks like they should fit but with OP also being lowered, once he mounts them, maybe there is a slight rub here or there. But, yeah I never went through the whole thread to see what sizes fit.
Don't understand why such a small tire though? unless that is what is need to fit 9" wide wheels with out rubbing? but for anything 225 or smaller, I'd go with a 45 aspect ratio. 235 or 245, I'd go with 40. 215 seems too narrow for that wheel and 215 with 40 aspect has too small of diameter. At the very least, go with 225/45 like OP said but nothing narrower?
The only reason I'm going 225 and not higher is because I bought set and Hankook v12s with a hookup from a friend . Well I'm glad to hear that the fitment shouldn't be to bad. Like I mentioned before, I don't mind rolling the fenders and I do have camber bolts (probably going to need -3ish degrees of camber in the fronts for autocross anyways). I'll probably just get shims for the rears haha.
Just to clear up a Lil. The sedan and 5 have different clearances in the rear than the koup. A x9 +35 will fit but required a roll on those. OR a Lil stretch tire. OR a Lil camber. So it does work but needs a Lil help.
Alright, thanks for the info. Hopefully I get them mounted today /figers-crossed/., I was suppose to have then mounted yesterday but the FedEx guy only dropped off one tire at the shop when the label clearly said 4 packages lol. The shop employees and I were just like "what...." haha.
Yeah rolled all 4 fenders to make the poke look a bit more flush. Now no more rubbing on bumps and hard corners. She's rides like butta and grips like a champ haha. Now I just need a rear sway bar. Haha
Okay guys bought the 19mm 2012-2015 Hyundai Veloster Piercemotorsports Rear Torsion Bar to use as my sway I can't wait also just for fun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZet6SvI_Jg <--- 4:52. We made it into the big leagues boys :') hahahaha
took a long time but drilled them with my drill and drill bit. forget the type of drill bit but make sure they are rated for metal.. and i also forget the hole size.. sorry.. was a while ago.. pretty much line it up to the spring pockets.. make sure you make room for clearance for the shock... mark the holes then drill.
Its all done. Had to trim the rubber spring mounts but all in all it was pretty easy. The Kia feels totally different. No more crazy understeer. No more crazy body roll. Rotates like a charm. Lane changes are so instant and planted it's shocking. Next is coilovers for sure.
lol nooo way it's always nice to have an extra set of wheels in case something goes wrong. Also, in the event that I sell my current car I want to be able to keep the RPF1's.
