Quick question, isn't the Koup most likely set up with a different final drive ratio than the sedan or 5 door, if so it's made more for scooting than high mileage esp, on the highway.. just a thought..

We have 6,000 miles on ours now {Forte 5 DR}.. still averaging 27 with mixed driving... which is fine with me.. Highway at 65mph, mpg is just under 40 .. I have an Auto.. One of these days I'm going to just set the cruise at 60 on a road trip and see what I get..

Hey, slowing down my V6 Impala to 60 got me 36 MPG, and I verified that several times after 38,000 miles on it.. So speed makes a difference on any car I am sure..

You can get some seriously good mileage with the EX 6 speed if you want to. The car doesn't mind being short shifted at all; you can fire up through the gears and be in 6th by 35 mph.

I drove dowm from Atlanta to Miami.
It's a 700 mile drive.
I did 99% hwy drive (1% to stop for food)
and I'm happy to say that after doing the math I got 36mpg at 70mph
with A/C at 1 and cruise control all the way.
the MPG dial said 37 mpg but I don't trust it.

I had to drive for 30 mins in a 55mph tops speed hwy and the dial got up
to 41.5 MPG!!!
I was super excited to see this. I curious if that had been true if I had driven at 55-60mph all the way.
I took a pic of the dial:

Don't trust the dials. My family has a number of cars with dials (including a Prius), and they are always overestimating. I go to the same gas station and use the same pump, and keep track myself.

People who are getting low mileage are under estimating how much city driving they are actually doing . I recently moved and have been doing 25-26 mpg per tank and I know it's probably 80% city driving. At my old house I had direct access to the highways and I was averaging 36-37 mpgs per tank.

I got the first service done at ~7500 miles, which is basically an oil change, and the stupid KIA dealership put in 5w-30 oil instead of the recommended 5w-20. My mileage has gone down ~1 to ~1.5 mpg since the oil change...not sure if its the oil's fault or something else

Was going to change the oil myself but for $30 with a tire rotation, I caved...

2011 2.0 forte
auto transmission 15,000 miles now. Mileage still poor. 23 city... 27 highway. Not anywhere near what is should be getting. Makes no sense. Dealership just shrugs their shoulders.

Those of you in northern climates should start seeing your mpgs climb back up a tad with the warmer weather and local gas stations ditching the winter blend. My mileage has gone from 27 - 28 in the winter to 29 - 31 mpgs with around 70 to 80% highway.
