Did a long trip this weekend and my numbers are:
95% highway driving at 115km/h cruise control
2.0L 5speed manual with TurboKits CAI
36.7 MPG or 6.41L/100km
2.0l with economy package: on interstate 95, 30.9mpg 37.1 imperial 7.6 l/100k, first long interstate trip (4000 miles on odo), I like this car but my BMW 525 got 31 mpg on the interstate, I'm not impressed

eh, my bmw 528e got about 42 highway, but it was also a pos most of the time lol
I'm not gonna complain about a car that runs perfectly and gets 35 highway, but your bmw probably wasnt as crappy as mine lol
Car now has 10,000 kms on it. On my latest fill up, first 1/4 of the tank was used during work commute. My commute is during morning and evening rush hour on the 401 in the GTA. Average speed during these trips are probably 60 km/h. I also have a 15-20 min drive from the city to the highway. I usually average about 28-30 mpgs a tank during the work week.
The next 1/4 of the tank was used to commute up north in the weekend. All highway driving with steady grade increases averaging about 115 km/h to 120 km/h. Before I came home, I filled up when the tank was half empty and my average was about 32 mpg or 7.36 L/100 km. Not too bad considering the first 1/4 of the tank was used to commute during heavy rush hour traffic. I'm sure if I did a whole tank of highway driving with the Forte I could achieve the advertised 34 mpg or even more. City driving is seems to what hurts the fuel economy of the Forte more than other cars such as the Corolla or Civic. BTW, my tires are inflated to the manufacturer recommended 32 psi. During winter, when I had softer snow tires on, I inflated them to 36 psi and it seemed to help with the fuel economy. I may do that with my all seasons.
...forgot to mention, I have a 4sp auto.

Reason: spelling
Just got back from a 1400 mile round trip from Michigan to Delaware and averaged 38mpg, with the AC on! The first tank was 38.9mpg, second 39.8mpg, and 3rd was 36 something. I averaged about 65 mph. I have found that if you keep the RPM below 2500 you really maximize the gas mileage. Unfortuantely, once you get in the city, the gas mile goes to crap real fast.
i wonder if something is wrong with my new koup 2.0 w/auto trans...
1st two tanks - average MPG is 21.9. I expected a lot better mileage from it, to be honest. for those getting good MPG in city-type driving (most of ours here is 30-45mph 1mile stoplight square grid roads), did your car require a breakin of anykind or did you immediately start with great gas mileage?
My 5 speed Auto EX gets 29 mpg. Still breaking it in, it only has 765 miles on it. That's driving 40/60 city/highway. I'm not gonna complain. It would have to get high 30's (i.e. 37 or more) if it were all highway. I haul ass on the highway too, 75 mph average. Keep in mind this is in the hot/humid area of New Orleans/Slidell with the A/C kickin full blast. Consider me a happy camper.
Around 36mpg here with the 2.0, auto transmission and 600 miles on the clock. I guess about 40% city driving on that millage with the AC on constantly. I am however driving like an old woman
