I think it's stupid the part isn't sent with something. They should know this issue. I could also use a 3 piece connector i hope instead of drilling for a new port.?
As you can tell from the posts, most people buying this dont have the 2 lines, just the one. Which I am sure the people at RRM made the kit for the Koup 2.4 not the auto 2.0... So it is not surprising it is not perfect for yours, as for the 2 hoses you do not want to "T" them togeather. They each need sufficient vacuum via a seperate port.

Well thanks for the help, I know ur right I guess RRM hasn't ever installed this on a car with the two hoses, but they make this and market this for my car, so they need to make a product that fits my car exactly, or cars like mine. That is just good business. The T is another 20 dollars this intake is really adding up and it's an SRI.
I think I saw them have it on a 2.0L AT and they had a breather attached to the engine block and then attached the long hose to the intake. It could have also been Injen's intake I'm thinking of.
Either way, for full efficiency and safety another vacuum port needs to be made.
I've seen them used on a couple of guys cars, but I went OEM because that blue always looks damned ugly after a few miles. I'm kind of a clean freak under my hood though....

Maybe the term "hose" is confusing? Let's call the air intake large tubes the "tubes" and the small hose that the little filter in that picture is connected to the "hose". The picture I posted isn't my car since I have the TurboKits CAI which has the hose connector attached to the intake tube and mine is red.
The stock setup has two tubes, one with air coming into the air filter box and another going to the intake from that air filter box. The CAI replaces both of those tubes with a shorter metal tube attaching to the intake.
I made some diagrams using paint so don't mind the artistry.
Ok. I'm new to the forum and just purchased a brand new Forte 2.0 auto last July. I have been looking at the intake setup and am just wondering why I can't take the last pipe that goes into the intake and rotate it down towards the battery and put a K&N or other good filter on the end of it. This would shorten the distance the air would have to travel and would leave the two small hoses connected. I would also leave the intial flat piece at the front of the hood to direct cold air towards the new filter. Finally I would rap the pipe in insulation from Home Depot or Lowes so that the radiator heat would not change the air temperature in the pipe.
The only question(s) I have left is what is the small box pertruding out from that pipe located opposite the two small hoses? Is it necessary? Can it be removed, and duct tape used to seal the hole?
