The only opinion I have on Royal Purple was formed when some members of a Mazda forum, and other members of an oil forum posted their Used Oil Analysis reports. It didn't perform as well as Penzoil Platinum, Mobil 1, Amsoil or Redline in the Mazda 2.3. Iron and sodium numbers were elevated in a majority of cases. I assume the oil is high in sodium and the iron came from engine wear.

Thanks for the heads up.

Below is a copy of an oil analysis report on an sample of Castrol Syntec 5W20. I live in the South and this motor oil did a good job.

Idk I owned serval cars and trucks new.. one of which we always used 10/30 oil in we added slick 50 to the motor it was a dodge 360 truck we put 98,0000 miles on it and never had a problem never smoked never seemed to make any strange noises or what not.

I think for my area being in the hot az sun I feel better running a thicker oil 5/20 just sounds little dangerous for me living here but then again with a synthetic It won't break down in heat as fast as regular oil so yeah each to there own right

I just use Amsoil 5w20 with Amsoil filter. Local dealers here so easy to get, they even deliver it to me at home.

Which Pennzoil are you planning to buy? The motor oil will cost less at Wal-Mart and they sell it in 5 quart jugs unless AA is running a special.

i got pennzoil conventional 5w 30 with the k&n gold performance oil filter, was thinking about pennzoil ultra but they didnt even have any lol
And yeah I used to go to walmart, but now I live behind Advance auto lol
it came out to 38 total, 1 gallon jug (16.99) plus 1qt jug (4.99ish) and the $14 filter
maybe wouldve been a bit cheaper to go to walmart but then Id have to deal with the idiots on the highway lol
they had a special on a shell oil but it was only 15 w 20
no thanks
lol
I'll see how this oil works out and shop around a bit more next time maybe too

If youre shopping around usually the mobil1 filter is cheaper than the k&n.
And both are by Champion.

As for the KIA OE filter, it filter 99.9% I believe, its been said that they are by Mann.
Which is a pretty good deal for $7.99 (pending the dealer).
