1. New Transmission (5 speed manual)
2. New Windshield (standard)
3. New Weather stripping

Pending: New side mirrors due to wind noise caused by manufacturing process leaving excess plastic ( I told the dealer that I would sand it down and they pay for paint, they said no. THEY TAKE TOO LONG)

I have more issues with the car: knocking noise in the dash, scratches on the door panels. don't really have time to go to the dealer and wait 2 hours for them to check them out.

I just had this issue today, my stereo basically Locked right up when i tried changing the mode from FM to iPod. The entire thing was un-responsive (bluetooth) included. So I put the car in park and turned off the engine then restarted the car. The radio came back on (music began playing) however when i attempted to use bluetooth there was no volume? somehow strangely only the volume when using the bluetooth was low so once i turned that up (even tho it's the same speakers obviously that the music plays out of) it worked fine. I tried it a few other times during the day and had no problems.

ALSO in response to the "irregular" Idle sound, I have it was well... only happens periodically. But I am extremely careful with acceleration and my revs (auto transmission) until the "break in period" is over. On that note what have some of you been told as the "break in period" (KM range?) I have been finding it ranges, just want to know how long to nurse my beauty lol!

Like a week after i got the car, i was leaving work (aka a Kia Dealership) and someone cut me off... so I give em the bird and honk the horn... Everything was fine except the horn not working! So anyways, drove the car home. Next morning on my way back to work i saw a buddy so i went to honk and it worked! I know im not the only one that has had that happen to them because one of my customers who bought a Koup sx from me came in the other day and Said the same thing! anyone else have this happen?!

IMO engine break in should be around 3000-5000 until your first oil change I would take it easy.

Update on my new engine. Today I received a call from Kia and they said I have been placed on the top priority list. My engine is slated to be shipped from Korea on May 28th. What does it mean to be near the bottom of that list? This whole thing is getting ridiculous. I'm going to stop by the dealership tommorrow to see what the problem is.

I had the same problem about twice, nothing would work but when i turned the car off and on again it worked normally. I just hope my bluetooth or stereo don't give in because I have an amp and alpine speakers installed on it and i know even though it is practically impossible for that to cause the stereo to fail, Kia will blame it on that. i called them to confirm it.

Problem 2-the passenger side window would stick out very slightly when someone closed the door and while driving you would hear excessive road noise. When I would open the window and close it again it closed fine. it was only when someone closed the door from outside. I brought it in and they fixed it within an hour under warranty.

other than that i haven't had any problems.

also Id like to add that I was soft on my car only till 1,200 miles That's what i had thought was the normal break in period but apparently people are telling me different, I'm at 7000 miles now haven't had any problems but I'm kinda worried because I feel like I should have extended the break in period by atleast 1000 miles...

You were more than OK with 1200 miles break-in. More important than keeping the speed and RPM's down and varying the speed, is changing the oil at earlier intervals at when first breaking in the engine---this is because this is the critical time when there will be more "wearing in debris" in the oil---microscopic shavings and pieces of metal that are dislodged as the engine wears in----

I usually change at 500, then again at 1500, then again at 3000 and then go to a 5000 interval from there on----

Had to change the windshield due to manufacture defect, long crack on the right side after about 9 months, after it changed once, it cracked again (due to bad install by company) after that, all was fine.

After starting the motor cold, with the car still in PARK, about 20 to 30 seconds after turning the key, the car shakes a little. I can feel the seat vibrate. I've never had any other car shake while waiting for the RPMs to come down.

The other problem is the 2nd to 3rd shift jerk after starting the car. Many people have this problem and KIA is aware. There is a whole thread about it on the other KIA forum. Waiting for KIA to release a fix.

We had our 2.4 SX brakes lock and engine stall at 800 miles. Camshaft assemblies and CVVT gears replaced. Cam gear locating holes deformed.

Dealer took care of it promptly.

Got mine last Saturday, forte coup sx auto, right off the lot it stalled. I still took it home bc service dept. Wouldn't be open till Monday. Anyway had the check engine light and TCS light was on and could not reset. Took it to auto zone that night to have it read out, go 2 codes on it. One for the pcu and one for forced engine shutdown... I figured it was a computer, so Monday I take it in they reprogram the ecu and everything is good till I start the car the next day. Took it back in and had them look at the pcu or transmission CPU sure enough I got a bad one. Been in the shop for a week now waiting to get one from Korea. Should be here Tuesday, they said it's a 900$ part so they had to go to the big heads and apparently all ecu/pcu are assigned to car by vin#. So they had to get authorization to have one off the assy. Line then overnight the part on Monday. Any all the symptoms were: car would just cut off randomly at any time sitting driving, was idle at 500rpm instead of 800, traction control light would be on and could not be reset, check engine light on, around 40-50 mph felt like tranny would slip. Well when I get it back I'll post some info and what not. Only 35 miles on the car. Service dept has been pretty good though so I'm chill.

I first changed my oil and filter at 3000 miles, I did it myself and put full synthetic.
I'm at 7,300 now so I guess I'll have it changed agian. I'll bring it to Kia this time though, because there is a washer that you are supposed to remove an install a new one every time you change the oil and i didn't remove the old one. thus the washer deformed causing a very slight oil leak. Dealer told me nothin to be concerned about to have Kia change the oil next oil change an they will replace the washers.

Add me to the list, I had my Sirius radio replaced due to a malfuntion that only affected the Sirius portion of the radio, AM/FM worked fine, oh well that's a new radio for me.

Minor leak of fluids (not "dangerous" per dealer) near fuel injector due to bad seal. Still waiting for parts... The dealers says this would be rare in any car... so what does that mean ?
