"Hi friend, I'm here to spread the word. Have you accepted the Kia Forte Koup as your Ride and Savior? If not, please allow me a few minutes of your time."
As SubtleStyle said, the warranty will be out the window and it'll be expensive, but if you have the means and could care less about the warranty, do it!! I don't think you'd be considering it if you were too worried about the warranty and must have the funds, so it shouldn't really be much of a debate.
Yea man I'm in the same boat and I'm going for it but it's the funds that are keeping me from doing it yesterday lol with everything installed and all the gauges and stuff it's 6-6.5K and that's through TK. A private shop may charge more or less for the install. If the money is there, u must do it. U can run low boost and still have 300hp and not worry about messing up your internals where u would regret voiding the warranty. If you're going to beat the hell out of it, u may want to either reconsider, build up the internals, or get some money on the side to pay for repairs lol
You just don't get the turbo..... Gonna need the short shifter with bushings cause lets be honest.....stock shifter blows, so that's about $300, another $400 for gauges, and you're gonna need tires. Preferably toyo proxes t1r's. What's the point of having a turbo if you have no grip on the road. That's another $1k. Plus you can only use 92 gasoline. Then you start getting into suspension upgrades, strut bars, rear away bars, under bars....another $600. If you're gonna boost your car, don't half ass it, you'll regret it later in life. So a turbo, instal, tune, dyno, all those other parts....plus an extra $2k in the bank invade something goes wrong....ya looking at $10k. Pretty much buying a used car. Not a cheap hobby, definitely worth it, only if you have the money though. So don't be thinking "oh I saved up enough just to buy the turbo kit" cause it's a lot more to have it run right.
If it was me, I would get the turbo, but only after the parts KIA mentioned and maybe even after doing some internals to allow a little bit more boost. If I spent that much on a turbo, I would want to get the most out of it that I could. Since I have a couple that would be willing to help with the install at little to no cost, I would spend that additional money building up the motor :-)

i have a few concerns with gettin the turbo on the stock car. will the clutch/ trans gears/ axles handle the 120ish extra horse? and considering our cars came stock with h rated tires you would definitely need to upgrade to a w or atleast v rated tire. you'll need better brakes to get that puppy slowed down. it is a very slippery slope. but i asked my dealer about the turbo and they told me as long as it was professionally installed it wouldn't void my warranty. yet tuning the motor will.

Understandable concerns but TK didn't just slap the turbo on and hoped for the best. They researched what would be best, they came up with a whole system of parts that can handle the extra power and they went through trial and error until it was perfect. There has been a bunch of people who have turbo'd their cars and for the most part there hasnt been any problems besides crock who blew his engine up cuz he didn't know he owned a Kia Forte. If u have the money it's a no brainer and especially since your dealer said it wouldn't be a problem with the warranty...if u did do it, u better get that agreement in writing!
Fackin turbo the crap out of it! I turboed mine and I'm 110% happy with it! I got the turbo when I had 8000 KM in it which is roughly 4000 miles. So I didn't care about the warranty and I had the money left over. I used my stock tires for a bit because winter was approaching so I'm getting new ones next summer. But deff a must! It's well worth it!!!
