right now the home page is flooded with this months and last months winners, theres like 6 pictures and its annoying.
The home page is only for FOTM winners and random autoguide.com articles. If the photographs on the home page are annoying you then bookmark the forum page or the active topics page and stop visiting the home page.
I say just have a single Car of the Month. It's cool that we have three different winners but at the same time it's kind of watered down. Enter any type of Forte into a COTM and may the most popular vote getter win. One winner.
I think this is a better approach....And the winner shouldn't be picked by popularity of Koup v. Sedan or which trim...It should be by the significance of the mods for that particular vehicle hands down!!!!

I appreciate the support. Listen, my online Elantra community has been around nearly 10 years and believe me, it is the best approach. We have several generations of Elantras, many different styles from sedan to hatch to wagon and it just works better to have one overall winner each month. We've even had non-Elantras win.
I realize the three winner approach is what the staff wants here but I think it is a bit more watered down. You have to figure that right now mostly Koup owners vote on Koup, Sedan owners vote sedan and hatchback people vote hatchback. How cool would it be to get 20 Fortes (Koup, sedan, Hatch) entering their cars in one big vote, may the best car win?

In theory it would be a nice idea to combine all of it into one vote and I see where the members are coming from who support the idea but...
I don't mean to offend anyone and I'm sure I'm going to get flamed for this but I'm positive a Koup owner would win the FOTM almost every month and it would be disappointing to sedan and hatchback owners who are trying to win. A lot of Koup owners are biased (myself included) even if they do like the stying of the sedans and hatchbacks and they currently hold the majority vote.
It's only my opinion! Sorry to those I offend. Let the controversy begin!

And that's really sad if that's true because I can look at 3 different products, regardless of what it is and tell you which is the best without being biased...I see 10 different cars on the road per day, that are without a doubt better than my Kia, and would have no problem telling that person, "Hey sweet ride" without feeling inferior for being honest!
And let me just note that Crock has hands down the best modded car on this forum and last time I checked it was a Sedan...Not a Koup...That's the type I am looking to vote for...Not whether it has 2 doors or 4....
And this is not at all a dig at you Subtle....It's just my own opinion for those who feel they have to hype up the Koup just because they own a Koup or those owning the other trims....We all know each trim has it pros and cons...

I agree with you 100%. In our own community there's a lot of sedans I really like a lot (the hatchbacks haven't really got started yet cause they're so new) and I wouldn't have a problem voting for it over a Koup. I think a lot of Koup owners will echo what I've just said but like I said earlier nice in theory...
I realize the three winner approach is what the staff wants here...
Last I checked we don't have staff. We have volunteers. Now, read back through this thread and see what the opinion is of any moderators that posted...because that's what they have to say on the matter. It's not really overwhelming, is it?
This thread was an opportunity for the community to vote. There wasn't a huge turn out but they made a decision; keep them separated.
One contest will result in a vast majority of Koup winners. It's simply statistics. The majority of buyers that are planning on heavily modding a Forte will choose the Koup. The ratio of worthy Koups to Sedans or 5s will not allow for many 4-5 door winners. That's not to say that there won't be awesome sedan and 5-door winners; they will just be fewer and further between.
It's true that this contest doesn't matter, so why not let a couple more people each month get to feel a little bit cooler?
I personally commented on this as a member, not as a mod. I believe that each style is unique, but i don't think its fair that there's like 3 forte's competing for sedan while there are 6 koups. So i believe that they should be combined together until the amount of sedans and fives increases.
I think that there should be three contests then the winner of each style go up against each other for like super forte of the month or something like that.

I wasn't saying staff was paid. The forum I administrate has mod volunteers as well but I use the term "staff" to describe the team. I wasn't trying to imply you guys get paid.
