Default Another FOTM suggestion

The other thread is about who voted for who, but I am offering suggestion for the way the contest is structured. I'm member of a Ford Ranger Website and compared to that site's TOTM contests this place's FOTM looks like crap in the way it's structured. Their #1 improvement over what is done here is that they have separate thread for nomination and voting. Every one posts their nominations for each category that month in one thread, their nominations must be one picture, the owner's user name, and a link to more information about the vehicle. That's all in that thread, no discussion, no bickering, make your nomination that's it. Oh and no one is allowed to nominate themselves. Rather than giving all of the rules I'll link you to the current nomination thread where they are posted >>Link<<

Once at the predetermined date for nominations to end, a moderator splits up the vehicles and polls into their different threads. There it's Street TOTM and Off-Road TOTM, here it would be each of the different versions. In that thread you have the poll and voters can comment on the car they voted for and why, but it isn't required and usually no bickering there.

I can't speak for anyone else here but the biggest reason I don't participate/vote in the FOTM is because of the current lack of rules and organization. IMO if it isn't going to change for the better, get rid of it. I'm not bitching because I've never been voted for, I don't care about being any car (or truck over there) of the month. That said I understand why others like it and am willing to participate if is set-up wright.
