ok.. here are some photos of how I installed my footwell leds and where i mounted them. Like most people. I couldn't find a hole in the firewall and I did not want to get into drilling one so here was my solution which so far has held up for the 4-5 weeks I have had them installed.
Picture 1 - Passenger Side Mounting Location - there is a small lip at the very bottom which my LEDS fit in perfectly while allowing me to hide them from view.
Picture 2 - center console, 6 led strip fits perfectly - again, there is a small lip in which you can hide the LEDS from sight.
Picture 3 - Driver side foot well... NO LIP!!! I had to stick these to the very bottom/end of the plastic and if you sit in the back seat, they could be seen by passengers back there if they stick there head a little low to see. They are not visible from either front seat unless you stick your head down there.
Picture 4 - Since I didn't go through the firewall, i had to run it via the door jamb. I hide and tied all the wires up behind the dashboard and then ran the main power line down behind the kicker panel. I had to run it over the door jamb, which i intend on paint it so it matches the color of the plastic to blend better.
Picture 5 - A view of the door jamb where I ran the wire up behind the weather stripping to secure it in place.
Picture 6 - were i secured the wire from the top of the door jamb into the engine bay. You will need to loosen the two bolts to fit the wire under there properly and then retighten them and holds the wire in place. and from there, I ran the wire over positive.
My set up does not have the lights turn off with the car. If i leave the switch on, the lights stay on. With or Without the power / key on.
Picture 7 - My new freaking CAI!!!!!! Engine bay looks kinda empty. Might throw a rotisserie or something in there!!
Edit: Forgot to include a picture of the switch. I put this next to my TCS button. I had two empty, so i drill a 1/2" hole and put a toggle switch w/ red led light in there. I'll add the picture once i take it.
any questions, let me know. or email me and tell me what crappy job i did... first time for this stuff for me, so I was pretty happy with it..
