Default Cars parking lamps stay on with key in off

So I was curious if this was just my car or do others cars do this?

I just realized that if I turn my car off with the headlights in the on postion that the parking lamps and tail lights stay on.
Is this normal? I thought all the lights would go off if you turn the car off no matter if the headlights switch was on or off.

Do I have a issue here?

Lights will go off when you take key out of ignition.

I believe they will go off (parking lights) when you open the driver side door even with the keys out.

If you turn the car off, and take the keys out with the lights still on, they will turn off when you open the drivers side door. I believe if you open the door before turning off the car then they will stay on...
