You can have the button installed in any position that you like and seeing as you've never actually touched it, I don't see how you can say it feels cheap.
I agree that the installation could be more professional but that has nothing to do with the unit itself. If you look at the video linked above, it looks almost stock.
- the button and its position feels very cheap, the half cut key is another amazing part
- installation could be more efficient and more professional.
- the sounds that came up when you press to start or config are not stylish...
I agree with you on the sounds and the location. What I am going to do is get the key cut and the cut it down to we're it barlly sticks out and cover the whole ignition to make it look like it was never there. And then put the push button where the stock push in the tech package goes. As for the sounds I am hoping in the next month or so they come out with a better audible sounds for when you arm it.

Hey man I've been real busy lately and havent had time to get on the computer. I'll measure the diameter of the button and post some cleaned up picks of my install.
I bought the push button start from worriel inc. its an awesome setup and seeing as you live in cali im almost positive he can have his installer there do it for you in no time
From research I've done, a lot of 350 Z owners installed them on their own. They were all automatic owners though. I would expect manuals to have a bit of trouble with the remote start wiring because of the clutch bypass.
You actually dont have to do a clutch bypass on the car unless you want to start the car without being in it. For example starting the car from your living room. Im not great with wiring diagrams so i had my shop do it for me. this is a link to where i bought it from Wooriel Shop
