I have a 12" sub with a sealed enclosure. This sub is powered by a class T amp ( 80 W RMS ). Mids are standard 8" pyles and paper cone tweeters.

This whole setup sounds awesome. Much better than those pricy OEM amps and speakers. The point here is that you don't always need expensive amps and speakers. A little bit mix and match with proper wiring can rival some of the best systems.

Believe it or not i got my entire setup under $500 and sounds better than a $3000 setup (my friend has one)

FYI I have placed the amp under the driver set. Doesnt make any difference. Make sure that you use good quality wires and double check the grounding. Stray ground loops can kill the audio quality. Rock music IMHO demands a tight bass rather than boomy/reverberating bass. A sealed enclosure will work just fine.

PS: i listen to rock too

Cheers

You can't mount the amp to the back of our seats.. it's like they're made of jello - the amp won't stick!

I had my mids amp on the back of my rear seats :wat:

I just recently moved it though.

I'd beg to differ, just because your friend got ripped off and payed 3K for mainstream brands doesn't mean that every setup sounds bad.

My setup, including HU and everything was, ~2K, and it sounds great. I'm running two 8" subs in a custom ported box and nobody believes it when I tell them it's only two 8's.

I do agree that if you listen to rock you should go with a sealed enclosure though.
