Default 2013 kia forte gas mileage issue

I am trying to gather all Kia Forte Owners who are pissed off because the Forte WAS NOT included in the affected models for overstated gas mileage. I own a 2013 Forte Koup and am experiencing a 4 Litre/100 km difference on the performance.

Thoughts from Forte Owners ???

Please shoot me an email if you plan on pressing the matter further

Dunno about yours, but according to fueleconomy.gov, the mileage on my Koup is 23/31 for a combined 26 MPG. I normally get around 30 MPG.

That's 7.8L/100km for you metric people. Maybe stop putting your foot into it so much?

There are so many real world conditions that affect your actual MPG. Get an ECU tune and move on!

For any questions please send me a PM and add link to thread if you want a public response. I will try to a answer within 24 hours.

Yea he pretty much did make an account for that. And don't forget mpg is an important aspect of getting a car for at least 50% of people who buy a car. If I wanted pure performance and didn't care about mpg at all...well I wouldn't have a Forte which is an economy car.

I inflated my wheels to 40 PSI from 33 and I improved 3mpg combined.

Just take it at what it's worth.

Alright, I get it, mpg is what this car was made for, we get it, we GOT it 5132 mpg threads ago haha. Watch in a few hours another guy comes complaining how hes getting 25 mpg instead of 26, or someone crying how the forte was not on the mpg recall list thing. Cry me a river -.-

I have a 2013 SX Koup... that only had 1,100 miles on it and according to the trip it's averaging 23.6 mpg.

I'd say that's pretty good for a car that hasn't had it's first oil change yet and has been driven in mostly stop and go traffic. No complaints here.

One of attorney friends dropped by to see how much the suiit's worth. If the error is actually 34 instead of 37 mpg, for typical mileage of 15,000 miles a year the annual penalty is about $125 a year per car and given original buyers generally keep their cars fpr 5 years the total award per driver is $625. He has a Hyundai but if he's the lawyer in a class action he'll get about 25% of the number of owners represented awards, or say $150 a car for maybe 100,000 cars. Thats a cool $15 million. I expect a passel of lawyers will jump on this; they only need to discover Hyundai-Kia fudged the mpg on all models, which sounds likely.

Yah lets screw over the company we all love because of a measly 4 mpg... (which isnt even the case for our cars).

If you want to screw KIA out of 15 mil because you think you deserve something, you ought to feel ashamed of yourself...

I for one could care less if it was 1 or 2 mpg off. Nor that big of a deal. I also went from 16-18 mpg's to my current avg of 32.

The ESTIMATED mpg is pretty Damn close if you ask me. The key word is in bold. It also happens to be on the sticker at the dealerships. Just saying.

To the defense of the guy that "has an attorney friend": I think it's pretty ridiculous that this is even capable to happen. Even worse is the fact that Hyundai/Kia has been caught doing this before with horse power numbers. I personally don't care about 1-2 mpg off since I feel like consumers have come to expect this on the sticker but some of the models are more like 4-6 off.

I was pretty close to buying a KIA soul and glad I dodged that bullet. Also, I would not accept the gas cards they are "providing" either.

Quote:
For example, Hyundai says someone who drove 15,000 miles in an Elantra sedan in California during the past 12 months would get a debit card worth $67.05, which includes $8.81 for the inconvenience.
Seems near worthless to me. The price of gas would surely "vary" in a year (and mostly go up) and who even knows how poorly effected the re-sale values of these effected models are going to be now.
