Default A list of wheels sizes that fit our cars

I am hoping we can make a sticky out of this to help anyone wanting to know if a certain size wheel will fit their car.

I don't have much in the way of wheel fit knowledge so what I did is gather up all the different sizes that people have put on their Fortes. I cannot personally confirm any of this, these sizes are just what some people have said fit their Fortes. Feel free to ad to or correct this list if you see something inaccurate.

Wheel size/Offset/Tire size (if stated in post)
17x7 +40
17x7 +42
17x7 +45 215/45/17
17x7 +48 215/45/17
17x7 +50 215/45/17
17X8 +38 215/45/17
17x8 +40 215/45/18
18x7 +37 Fits rear not sure about front
18x7 +42 215/40/18 w/5.66 backspacing
18X7.5 +38 225/40/18
18x7.5 +48 215/40/18
18x8 +40 225/40/18
18x8 +42 225/40/18
18X8 +43 225/40/18
18x8 +45 225/40/18 "Flush" fit stated in post
18x8 +48
18x8.5 +47 225/40/18

Lug size-5x114.3

That's a great idea. Thanks for putting those figures together and sharing them.

I'm running 18x8 with +48 offset wrapped with 225/40/18 Yokohama S-Drive tires.

Keep in mind that if you choose to move towards a more aggressive offset and you have lowering springs (or intend to add them later on), you'll need to pay closer attention when selecting tire. Some tire shoulders are more square and may rub.

Just something to keep in mind.

Thanks for adding to the list guys, I was hoping that would happen.
I know there are some 19 and 20's that fit as well, hopefully the guys that have them will add to the list.

So I am understanding offset now but what the heck is backspacing and how does it affect the fitment of the wheel? I am looking at alot of wheels that will fit my car according to size and offset but now I am paranoid I will buy something that has the wwrong backspacing.

I did a quick search here and couldn't find it - another parameter is hub diameter or center bore. Isn't it about 67mm for the Forte?

EDIT: Yes - our wheels' hub diameter is 67.1mm. Just adding to the pile of info.

So under 67.1 wont fit? What about over 67.1?

I had no idea there were so many variables to our wheels sizes.

Yep - 67.1mm is the minimum hub size for hub-centric Forte wheels. You can go bigger, but then the wheel would be lug-centric, which many consider inferior.

If you're not familiar, I grabbed this quick description of the two types of wheel centering:

Ok, the wheels I am looking at are 73.1mm bore so I am good. I hope you guys don't think any less of me for having an inferior wheel.lol

Certainly not! While I have no experience with a lug-centric setup, I'm sure there's nothing wrong with it. Hub vs. lug centricity debates are the kind of thing that keeps internet forums going. Enjoy your wheels - and post pics when you install 'em!

Sorry guys, but just a quick question: will 18x8 with an offset of 35 fit? I saw a few posts with similar numbers, but didn't get a clear answer. Thanks in advance.

Im not really understanding offset, if +45 is flush, would a +38 or a +48 offset stick out of the wheel well more?
