Default Biggest tire size on stock SX wheels

What is the biggest tire size that we can fit on the 2010 SX wheels that do not rub the wheel well?

225/45/17 would be the biggest I'd recommend. 235 is maybe pushing it.

The stock tires are 215/45/r17 right?

i wonder if you can run 245 on the koup. Not stock rim, on a different rim. technically its only 30mm bigger that stock. which is only like 1.2 inches.

So, 225/45 definitely and 235/45 probably not?

Basically your overall wheel + tire need to have a diameter of 25". If you exceed that, it will rub/touch your wheel well. Based on other members' experience, 225 would be okay, as 215 being stock. Use this site to check:

So, 235/45-17 would rub because it's 25.3 inch diameter? 225/45-17 tires have a 25 inch diameter therefore being the biggest tire size we can use?

Well. 0.3" isn't THAT big, remember your wheel gap is maybe 1-2 inches depending on load the vehicle is carrying. Also the front wheels need to be able to clear the fenders when turning. You want to take all this into consideration. I would not go more than 1" bigger than normal size, especially since it'll mess up your speedometer reading too.

I heard 225 would alter the sidewall ratio to a slightly higher number. I'm confused. So 225/45/17 will fit with no adverse effects????

if run a 235/40/17. the overall diameter of the set up would be 24.4 as to the stock set 215/45/17 which is 24.62. that way you get a wider tire on a lowered car so the wheel well gap won't look huge. the only question is will a 235 push the tire-rim pressure to far. that if you hit a bump or pothole to hard the tire will blow out. also the speedo reading would change from if going 65 on a 215/45/17. it would read 64.43 with the 235/40/17.
