I want to swap out my shift boot for an aftermarket one but could not figure out how to get the reverse lock off so I can remove it. Doesn't seem obvious to me how to remove it so I figured I'd ask here before I end up breaking it on accident. Will try and upload pics if necessary but I have tried to do so already to no avail.
Thanks for the response but that video doesn't show what I was trying to figure out. However I ended up looking at it in the daylight and figured it out. In case anyone ever has the same question I'll answer it here. There is a round black clip between two rubber rings that hold the boot in place. Originally I couldn't see this clip at night when I first looked and thought the whole reverse lock had to be removed. Anyway you just get a flat head or some needle nose pliers and lift it up and pull the boot off. If you break the clip you could always just use a ziptie which honestly is easier and probably work better than that tiny pain in the butt piece of plastic.
