Does base stereo in 2019 have an amp?

Wondering if the base stereo is amped or just straight from the touchscreen.

Hey All Or Nothing, a good 99.9 percent of stereos have an amp in them to power your speakers. Usually, this amp is not very strong. If you are looking to put a subwoofer in your car, your stereo most likely cannot handle it. You would need to get a line-input-converter if you are going to use your stock stereo. No research has been done on the 2019 Forte stereo quite yet, so I can't give you the exact number, but I'm guessing it puts around somewhere between 9 watts RMS and MAYBE 40 max. That's a generous rating.

It's impressive to nobody but ourselves, and absolutely NOBODY cares. But we think its badass.

Sorry...wasn't talking about the amp in the radio. I meant an external amp. The parts guy at KIA told me there was an amp on the roof buy the antenna but I think he was talking about an amp to boost the signal.

I'm just gonna pull the dash. Can't find any info about this new touchscreen anywhere.

The amp in your roof is most likely a signal booster for Sirius XM radio. What exactly are you trying to do?

Just wanna tap the wires behind the radio to upgrade with speakers and amps. I think I am just gonna pull the door panels and get the wire colors then tap them before they go into the doors.

That amp is not going to be near enough for what you need. There are plenty of aftermarket amps to fit your needs, though.

I am not trying to use the amp in the radio. I am tapping the wires to go into an Audiocontrol LC7i. Then into a DSP then into my own amps.

Just wanted to make sure there isn't some weird low powered amp setup on these base cars.

No, not to my knowledge. And even if there was, I doubt it would have the right connections to power speakers.

Most likely not, because in the event it'd have one, it would be definitely listed in equipment.
