2.0l or 2.4l? Manual or automatic? Where are you located?

I wouldn't expect to get the "advertised" 25MPG with a car that has 161k miles on it...

You DID waste that money changing those parts to try to gain that additional 3MPG.

There's so many factors that relate to the MPG you get (driving style, location/temp, tires, gas used, city or highway, etc, etc), and a difference of 3 mpg from the advertised MPG considering the mileage, I would say isn't bad.

But... things to change that may affect the MPG: air filter, oil, spark plugs. Could be a good idea to run some Seafoam through the car (triple treatment: crankcase, vaccuum line, gas tank).

Did you just get this car or have you had it a while? Did it used to get 25mpg and recently started getting only 22?

My advice, change your driving style. The single largest effect on fuel economy is your right foot.

Personally, I get about 20 in my 2011 SX auto hatchback. But that's mostly city driving. Only on the highway do I get 25+mpg.

And I agree with everything in the post above mine except the seafoam. That's mostly snakeoil.

I’m so sorry I made a Hugh mistake was 22 km and should be 15 miles, im from Guatemala and where I live is really hot, so the real mpg is 15, after reading 22 miles it’s on the normal but it’s 15 miles per gallon

I drive more in the city, and I use regular gasoline

So, was it getting higher MPG before and just recently drop or did you just get this car?
Does the car have 161132 miles or kilometers?

Doesn't sound that far off. Is it a high ethanol content gasoline where you live? If you mostly drive city, this doesn't sound that far off. I'm usually in the 16-18 mpg range in mostly city driving.

Try a tuneup. It could probably use new plugs and wires if they are original. Also check the air filter to see if it needs to be replaced. Make sure the ducting is clear. Lastly, try giving the throttle body a good cleaning.

well are 161132 miles, but its normal get so less miles?? they are like 10 less miles that the "standard" 25 miles thats its the "normal mpg"
I use 91 octane gasoline that its regular gasoline where I live.
One more thing almost every 2 weeks I got a check engine light and when I go to the mechanic he said that its a "cylinder 4 failure" but its something recurrent.
and I already change the plugs

So run compression test. Dry and wet. This will tell what kind of problems you have there.
Engine is only partially responsible for fuel use.
Others are alignment, dragging brakes, low tire pressure, driving style, excess weight, air drag, climate...

I have a 2010 Forte EX, with the 2.0 engine, 4 speed automatic, with 338,000 miles. Still going strong, with no major issues. Just normal, routine service.
I average 33 mph commuting to and from work daily, mostly highway miles.
I've used Mobil 1 oil since I bought the car in 2011, with 42,000 miles. Change oil every 7000 - 7500 miles.
