1.8L on 2016 LX+ timing belt or chain

sorry if this is a dumb question but what does the 1.8L on the LX+have for the timing, i was told it has a chain and i just want to verify that is the case!

The 1.8L (and 2.0L) engine used in the 2nd generation Forte (2014-up) is the Hyundai Nu engine which was introduced in 2011 Elantra, replacing the Hyundai Beta II engine. The Nu uses a timing chain.

......and the answer is also in your maintenance section of your owners manual - if you don't see a replacement for a timing belt, then its a chain.

Philippe - you should give more detail on the Forte you own in the Drives description, just saying "Forte" doesn't help us much in responding to any comments or questions you may post. Also expand on your location, Canada is the 2nd largest country in the world and just saying "Canada" doesn't narrow your location down much. This can help us also as sometimes a problem or question can be related to where you are, for example there is a vast variety of weather conditions across the country - weather in the Yukon is not the same as the weather in Toronto.
