This has happened twice now. Accelerating onto the highway, get up to around 100 km/ph and about 4500 rpm, then the transmission slips and the motor revs up????

Never had this happen on any car I owned? Wondering if it's a safety protection feature or a problem?

Any thoughts?

Well had the car into the dealer and they agreed there is a slipping problem. So far they have adjusted the input variables( for lack if the correct terminology) in the computer. Tells the tranny when to shift I guess? Anyway, no difference! Get up around 100km, gradually press the gas peddle like you were going to pass someone, then the transmission shifts down a gear and then ZING!! Slip slip slip!!! Motor revs up and goes nowhere! Happens all the time. Other than that, seems perfectly normal. Fuel miliage sucks too... 9.7L/100km at about 50/50 city hwy

back to the dealer I guess.
