Want to know if anyone has any leads on this particular engine as far as engine upgrades? I know ppl say, "don't do it" but at 147hp, I think a 43hp gain is reasonable.

Update: ok peeps we should all know the big limitation aiding mods but let's start at the known issues and work from there with proven/ experimental upgrades:

Problem 1: non aspirated engine (lol)
Problem 2: high compression ratio (12.0)
Problem 3. Combustion valve delayed closing to increase spent fuel in intake.
Problem 4. Risk of going to lean and destroying the pistons and cylinders due to big boost turbo being installed..
Problem 5: warranty lol... Jp...

Now let's make us a 10 second car.

If you want 43hp the only option would be to turbo it. We are lucky enough to have many reputable providers of turbo kits for the Gen 3 yet, so if you are serious about it you will need a lot of know how and a big wallet. You might be able to squeeze out an extra 20hp with cold air intakes and a custom exhaust system. Maybe more if you are getting a tune, but say goodbye to your warranty if you take that route.

Hehe I took the liberty of talking to a vaccar rep and he confirmed through an email that the base car that was used was an 147hp Atkinson engine hyundai elantra se.. also there was an complete bolt on kit that existed but hard to come by. The hardest thing the rep said was that the pcm tune would be the make or break when making this project car.. so to all the people who wanted to know if our naturally aspirated atkinson engine can be moved it can and hopefully this part list will give you a road map to building our 2.0L Mpi Atkinson's.
