Ok first Im not just some ricky racer and I never try to endanger my car. I can careless about my own safety as long as my car it OK.

Now I recently raced my car against a friend of mine and notice that before a 120 my acceration and performance was superior. However, when I gave him a small lead to help even the field and started from 90mph when we I reach 120 I could no longer increase my speed. I was in 5th gear at approximately 5 rpm's. So I then shifted to 6th gear and the results we the same 120 and no position improvement. It was embarrassing and frustrating.

I read that some have done 130 but were 2010's so may this only apply to 2011's, but does know of a governor on this car? If so can it be by passed? Anyone else at least have this problem?

i have been in the 130's and its how you drive the most shift timing is of the utmost importance. the governor never kicked in on me and i had lots of rpm left just ran outta room. but you have to also understand the car is not made to be a race car however badly we want it to be. lol our transmission sucks worse than a 40 year hoover

If racing, why would u shift to 6th at 5K? Why wouldn't u go higher in 5th?

Its got a speed governor it, take it to a tuner shop of you want it faster....and if I were you, I'd delete this thread before the masses read it and start ripping you a new a-hole cause they hate when people speed! Lol it's gonna get ugly!! Use the search button and you'll find your answer, and you'll also see where everyone starts cursing lol it gets funny.

I can careless if they hate and curse and this and that. If they don't like my post don't read it and just go to another post. lol Im not here to please them and they aren't hear to please me. I respect there outlook and I understand the safety issues involved but they want to be a child and thrown a tantrum then let them cry. LOL

I wasn't planning on shift at 5k but the car was moving anywhere. The RPMs cam to a stand still as well as the MPH. It stayed that way for a good 10 -15 sec's with no improvement so I change gears to see if that made a difference and it didn't.

I know this car is not a race car and the tranny is not test best on the market Im sure but never the less there are civics out there that can do 125 and I aim to shut them down if I have too and can't do that with a limitter in my way. I like knowing I have the option if need be but don't plan to use it for everyday driving. Thats just harsh and abuse to my car.
