So i was talking to my dealer the other day and i asked him when the 2011 koup is coming out, and he said not until this time 2011. i can't help but not believe him. Don't the 2011 models of cars normally come out in the fall some time? Does anyone know the month they are being released?

Yeah that doesn't make any sense. My dealer simply says he doesn't know when they'll be out. I was personally thinking late summer/fall timeframe since the UVO system is supposed to be available "by summer 2010" according to Kia's website.

If anyone has the inside skoup on the Koup please share...

Unfortunately for us current Forte/Koup owners, the system is not going to be swappable into our cars; it'll only be available in new cars.
Is this confirmed? Where did you find this information? I am thinking there will probably be a way to buy it and make it fit, no?

Probably because our head unit isn't a swappable design like some of the other forte head units. ours has a custom fit that would require you to get a custom head unit to get something else to fit properly

Yeah
the website says something about us not getting that unit as a upgrade. due to...?!?
honestly it sounded like they just don't want to pay for a upgrade here, if you watch the video about it I thought it looked close to what we have now right?. I mean maybe if its bigger you could just buy the plastic trim thing and the unit and hook it up?

I'd think that one could fit in are car.. inless kia changed something I can't see?

From autotrader:

Despite the new body style and front fascia – and the Forte's fresh design – changes to the 2011 Forte didn't stop there, with Kia also announcing a shakeup of the Forte's transmissions. Gone are the standard 5-speed manual and available 4- and 5-speed automatic transmissions of the 2010 Forte, replaced with a standard 6-speed manual and available 6-speed automatic. By adding gears, the new transmissions will increase fuel economy and acceleration.
Other changes to the Forte include newly available features, including push-button starting, a navigation system, and – for models equipped with the new automatic – paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel.
Old news but if Kia officially states this then I'm glad to keep waiting.

Paddle shifters, push button start, 6 speed auto and UVO system. Unless i get the dealer to give me an SX koup now for under 18,500 i'm definatly waiting for the 2011's to come out. I'm new to the car buying market, but from what I understand the 2011's should be out sometime mid-late august right?

Well, this thread died. Any updates on the release date of the 2011's? I was talking to a salesman and he said not until november or december. I think he was just trying to get me into his koup ex though.
The saleswoman I was talking to told me that Kia generally releases their cars later than some of the other car manufacturers. She said Kia usually releases their new models in the months of Sep. or Oct., she might have said Oct. Nov. I don't recall exactly, but as opposed to Aug. when other manufacturers may come out with them.

Well, guys I talked to the KIA call center in Tuscon, AZ. yesterday and they told me the 2011 Koup will be out late Oct-early Nov. 2010. but no word yet on the model differences.

Nice!! that gives me 4 more months of saving for a down payment :D

Hoping I will have 10K by then, then only have to finance about 10 ..

But it is gonna suck buying a new car in the winter :( Well for me at least .. Minnesota will have winter kicking in around October, 2 feet of snow by december and 40 below by January :/
