What would my wife's Kia forte just die. It started back up and drove fine. It didn't spit n sputter. She said she was driving and it just quit and all the dash lights came on like when u firs start the car

There could be hundreds of things. I’d start by getting the computer read and checking for codes.

If you can drive your Kia to the closest Autozone, O'Reilly's, Advanced auto parts, Pepboys, Napa or your trusted garage have it OBD2 scanned.

Just for an idea or basic at home check with basic min tools. You can start with the battery. How old is it? Check the battery + & - cables.

●Check the muti fuse. Check all relays & fuses.
●Check your alternator.
●Check for the electronic hum/buzz/zzz from the fuel pump.
●Check your spark plugs (if old or beyond the 100,000mile mark & gaps/replace if necessary)
●Check engine oil level.

There's also checking sensors but to me that's more indepth depending on the OB2 Scan+DTC codes retrieved.

Hoping it's something very easy & overlooked. Battery, low fuel (didn't fill up), muti fuse, alternator/starter.
